Her mom told us that she likes to go out in the morning and check on her garden- she likes to sniff the flowers and make sure the garden is in order- so we HAD to get her mom to send us some pictures of this. 🌗💫LUNA💫🌗 It’s been a while since we had a patient fall asleep during their ultrasound…. Luna really enjoyed her belly massage and we really enjoyed HER! Sedation is not always necessary for ultrasound. Our team is trained to get the best ultrasound images regardless if the patient is sedated or not. We send the images to board certified veterinary radiologists, cardiologists and internal medicine specialists.
🌸LILY🌸 This was a no brainer for patient of the day today. Lily has a heart murmur so we did an echocardiogram on her today and she was so good! No sedation needed for this little angel 😇! Many many kisses were given throughout the test❤️

This sweet girl just came back from Spain & saw us for her follow up echo 🫀 She sees us every 6 months where we check her heart and compare to her previous ultrasounds to watch for any structural changes. Doing this allows her vet to know if they need to increase or change her cardiac medications.

This little girl had an echo with us today- and gave all the kisses during her test 🥰 just another reason why we have the best job ever!
A question we get asked a lot during ultrasounds... "how the heck do you get this done on an angry cat?!" 🤯
There are a few methods that we, along with the amazing veterinary teams we work with, are familiar with to safely complete a diagnostic ultrasound on cats 😼
1. If your cat is known to be stressed in clinic, your veterinarian can prescribe a light oral sedative to be given at home before the appointment (also a bonus if your cat is stressed with car rides!)
2. A lot of the times this light sedation does the trick and we are able to gently lay your cat in their back in a comfy cushion, shave their belly, and complete the ultrasound.
3. On occasion, sometimes this sedation is not enough and cats can be very wiggly creatures! This is when we discuss with your cats veterinarian a safe injectable sedative to be given before continuing.
***We do NOT require your cat to be under general anesthesia, just enough sedation to be calm and stay reasonably still for diagnostic imaging 👍
4. And some cats sit pretty the whole time with just some loving pets and even watch the screen as we do our jobs!! 😻
Every cat is different and we pride ourselves on being flexible in our approach and work with the expert veterinary staff to provide a safe and individualized plan for each patient! 🤗
