So Bowie experienced and survived an EF-4 tornado last Monday 5/6/24 at 10 pm. I stuffed him and Mitzi in a cupboard in the laundry room. The core of the tornado passed approx ⅛ of a mile North of us and it is estimated it was .8 miles wide. The debris ball was almost 2 miles wide, which is one of the pictures, so basically we were IN the tornado. We have a lot of tree damage and some roof damage but we are extremely blessed to come out of it with minimal damage, compared to others. Parts of roofs were torn off down the street and Barnsdall OK (the town it hit before us) had about ¼ of the town destroyed. The last tornado that came into town was in the 80's (an EF-2). So we are praying that we don't go through that again in our lifetime.

We lost Kiki tonight. She was diabetic and developed a chest infection last week. She was not responding to meds and kept getting worse. Tonight she began abdominal breathing so we took her back to the vet. They determined she was having heart failure and her blood was not oxygenating (it was very dark). So we said goodbye to this sweet but feisty girl. Bowie is gonna have a tough time with this one. He and Kiki always had a love hate relationship. He always tried to be close to her but she was more of a solitary cat.
Forgive my pajamas, I fell off a ladder and fractured my pelvis (3 places) 5 weeks ago. It has been a rough couple months but the Lord is faithful and keeping us strong.

He hid out under the bed most of the day with Kiki, I think they know something is different with Cowbell gone.

We lost one of our sweet kitties yesterday, Cowbell. She was diabetic and was doing fair the last month. She stopped eating on Wednesday and deteriorated rapidly. I am thankful she only had one really bad day. She loved to lay on shoes so I put down a slipper for her, this was how she spent her last few hours at home (until her appointment at 2om).

Bowie, intently watching the news, he probably likes the ticker at the bottom. He has always been a TV watcher though.
