All the baby draft horses
Happy frolicking by Prince
It seems I've been remiss in posting foal updates! So here's photos and videos of the nursery herd today!
Prince (Purebred Registered Clydesdale colt) has returned from "Weaning Camp" in Aiken. He loaded and hauled the 3 hours home without a buddy or mom. Such a little champ!
Georgia (Purebred Registered Clydesdale Filly) has been claimed, and is just taking some more time to grow and gain independence, but will be moving to her new home in South Carolina when weaned.
Duchess (Purebred Registered American Cream Draft)is growing quickly! She's getting bolder and enjoys eating out of her own bucket at feeding time. She's shedding out a light golden color.
Polo (Clydesdale x Friesian/QH) is gregarious and spunky, but LOVES people and being scratched. He's the most naturally independent baby and has no trouble leaving mom to visit people or hang out with other horses.
A- Don’t tell Liam that Wendy’s cheating on him.
B- Could she really be learning a new skill??
She’s in the background chasing the lead horse.
Thank you Randy King for the experience today. We will be back 👍
Somebody got a new toy today.
6’ chain harrow to help with the pasture manure.
Forgot to update y’all over the weekend 🤷♂️
Simple thing, but we needed to take this tree down. Wendy found out it was rotten while mowing the yard even she bumped the tree with the mower and a large section of bark collapsed. A huge section of the trunk was rotten but we couldn’t see it behind the bark.
Apparently we have our first trail obstacle 👍
No Paul Bunyan jokes damnit.
Huh, that’s a peculiar looking weather pattern…
We’re going to be fine, just getting kissed by the outer edge.
Look carefully. Hundreds of happy little dragonflies. Keep up the good work my little friends.
Well, the back pasture track fence is done.
Little over 800’ of t-posts (about 115 of them with help from the Man Saver Post Driver, 3 strands of smooth wire, a couple hundred Lock Jaw fence clips, and a hot tape top (for visual only).
Couple hours of welding in there for the corners and braces. One 4’ gate for the people to get to the back creek.
On to the next pasture fence project!!
Hey look at that, it’s snowing in Georgia! 🤣
Spreading lime in the pastures this weekend to raise the pH, in advance of fertilizer and seeding.
Never too early to start obstacle training! A couple trips across the front yard bridge and rock creek bed following mama.
We have some happy hippos! I mean- horses! These three must have been watching Squishy take a swim a few days ago, and decided the time was right to go splashing in their pool!
Well, someone’s getting a new ranch bumper for the new truck this Christmas… Bambi lost this round of chicken on Latrobe Rd tonight. Everyone else is just fine, except for the truck that is.
First drive Liam & Rocki
Not super well-matched, but nice and boring for a first time with wheels.
First drive Liam & Rocki
Oh yeah, we did a thing today. Meet the newest driving horse on the HHH/RAGR team, the lovely Rocki! She went out for a mile and a half drive with Liam.
RV Looses a tire
It's a Monday Madness roadway post from the Ranch!
Paul was driving the truck, no animals, no trailer (thankfully!)
Why do some people scream about doing a pre-trip inspection on our vehicles? This is why... Drivers behind us were thankfully quite alert, especially since that was a panic stop for us on a blind right hand turn.
No one was hurt, and we were able to get the RV driver to stop in a safe place just up the road a ways.
Happy Stallions!!
The Stallion padocks have been finished for a while, but this is the first time we've put the drone up since the boys got to move in!
