New arrivals. 9 new baby Pygmaes have been added to the 40L. They are currently exploring and one of the male Pygmaes already in the tank has joined them.
Playing with the slow motion setting on my phone. Aren't they elegant.
Being stared at!!!!
Here are the girls. Aren't they beautiful.
Pua keeps staring at me. No idea why.
Feeding time
For anyone who think goldfish are gentle easy pets. This is the reality. LOL
Feeding frenzy in the 21L
Just fed the 21L and you'd think they hadn't been fed in days!!!!
Rush for breakfast
Castor was searching for food so I dropped an algae wafer in.
Babies back in 40L
Moved the next batch of babies over this morning. They were greeted by who I like to think are their parents who actually joined them in the nursery mini float whilst they were acclimatising. At one stage I had four adults in the float with the babies. In the end I had to gently tip them all out into the tank as they were quite happy to stay in there.
Will be keeping a close eye on the psycho Odessa pair until I am sure they won't try to eat the babies.
Pygmaes update
Just fed the 40L Community and the Pygmaes are all out foraging including the little one. He is fearless swimming with the Minnow/sharks. He does steer clear of the Odessa barbs so he does have some sense.
Castor and Pollux update
Both apple snails are doing well. I think they have stopped growing now.
Baby Pygmaes in 40L
Pygmaes watch
Hei Hei is such a diva
The girls wanted some video action
Minnow fry tank
Baby minnows are growing fast now. And actually show up on video. Jr Jr is still the biggest. Won't be long before he goes back in with his parents. Another couple of weeks maybe.
We have baby Pygmaes!!!!!
Whilst cleaning the 40L Community I found and removed 2 tiny baby Pygmaes and put them in with the baby minnows.
Last night whilst looking for one of the Odessa males I disturbed this little fella. This morning he is quite happy swimming with the big fishes. So cute!
Chillin'
Hei Hei and Pua colour change update
We have minnow babies!!!!!
We are now proud grandparents to some cute minnow fry. The biggest one who Simon calls Junior Junior is approx three weeks old. He survived a week in the main tank so we bought a nursery tank and caught him. Then other babies started swimming around behind the tank, protected from the adults. We started catching them this past few days. There are two which are approx two weeks and five which are days old.
Hoping they will survive. I am feeding them with Liquifry food and broken up flake food for Jr Jr.
Colours
The girls new colour changes.
Pua has some beautiful streaks of colour through her tail and Hei Hei is losing more of her black on her belly.
Early morning activity
Love waking up and watching the 21L inhabitants.
So relaxing.
