Turning Mischief Into A Shop

I'd always been passionate about animals and a keen creator since I was small, I was 'that' kid that tried to make marvellous creations out of the household recycling, but starting a shop had never crossed my mind at all. Until we bought a small bundle of cheekiness back from our family holiday to Cornwall on the 14th August 2015. Growing up in a household with only cats and having friends who had dogs made me yearn for a canine companion but our family life just hadn't suited to having such a responsibility.

But while on our holiday we stopped at a working sheep farm, that was also a tourist attraction on educating people to the importance of farming, I laid eyes on the Border Collie puppies in the animal barn. One puppy caught my eye the most. I remember he was the first one to come up to where I was standing and jump up at the side of the puppy run and wouldn't leave me alone even when other visitors were looking at him, he also came straight back to me whenever I returned. Long story short, after a lot of discussing with my parents and thinking the idea of as a family we brought him and named him Loki.

Loki has been my four-legged soul mate since we got him, even though he didn't get the memo that he didn't have to live up to his name, and after 8 months of ownership Mischievous Mutts was born! When brainstorming ideas for the shop, I wanted to choose a name that was still personal to me. As Loki is named after the god of mischief, I thought to put 'mischief' into the shop name was a better option with a nicer ring to it than being obvious and putting 'Loki' into it.

So far I'm pleased with the progress we've made, even though it has been hard work for me and Loki to get to who we are today but we have both changed each other for the better. It's funny how something as simple as getting a dog changes your life completely and makes you dream of things you never thought were possible. Before getting him I never considered creating a shop, I would have deemed it as 'too much work'. Loki has made me understand what it is like to have such a strong bond with a creature who can not speak a word of English but will still try the're very hardest to please you and now I have felt this, I understand what other dog owners feel. We just want the very best for our dog, even if it costs us most of our pay at the end of the month. This is why I want to create top-quality dog accessories for affordable prices, and I hope I can deliver this to all my customers (and therefor legged friends), wherever they may be.
