Happy Mother’s Day to all of the cat & furbaby moms! 💐 I’ve never wanted to have actual human babies. At one point when I was young, I dreamed of adopting- but never wanted to be pregnant or have my own kids. However, I outgrew that dream- but remained true to always being in love with cats. I always had cats growing up, but they lived outside- and I was jealous of people that had their pets inside. I was obsessed with Persian cats & dreamed of having one one day. I knew that they were expensive so I just figured that one day later in life, I’d be able to afford one. One day, one of my best friends told me that they saw the “cutest cat” they’ve ever seen. Their neighbor owned a white Persian cat. A few weeks later, I remember having a bad day, and my friend said “Let me cheer you up.” He left & a few minutes later, he came back to the apt with this white Persian cat. It was in fact the cutest cat that I had ever seen as well. When the owner/neighbor of the cat came back to get it, he literally offered it to me for free & said that they didn’t have time for it. They had 2 other dogs & another cat. I lived in an apt at the time that had a no pet policy but I couldn’t imagine not having this cat. So I accepted it, and she was mine. Her name was Ana by the original owners, but I changed her name to Shelby- and the rest is history. You’ve all watched her grow since she was around 2 or 3 years old when I started this Instagram account. Shelby was with me for about 12 years, and the bond that I had with her, the love that I had with her is so immeasurable. She truly was my daughter. 💖
