Dog Training and Behavior Modification Solutions
A dog’s body language and physical cues, environment, exercise, nutrition, routine, and socialization history, and typical behavioral patterns must always be taken into account and considered to ensure that their needs are being met. Training is the most effective when all of these factors are taken into consideration to make sure the dog is getting the best foundation to start with. Often, training issues can be mitigated by meeting your dog’s needs in addition to practicing behavior modification. It is my goal to make sure that my client’s dogs have the best life they can.
Each individual dog I work with is assessed and assigned training methods according to their individual traits and your training goals. During our first appointment, we will discuss your dog’s environment, routines, history, and training goals to ensure that the training curriculum is comprehensive and prioritizes training items.
Paid clients are sent a typed writeup of the notes, homework, and a breakdown of training items we went over after each. Clients are offered unlimited access to email or phone support- even after our training sessions have been completed.
All training sessions after the initial 75-minute sessions are one-on-one private sessions lasting 45 to 60 minutes and may include up to four dogs. Most training sessions are held in the client’s home but training sessions may be held in public locations such as a park or dog park.

In-Home Training to Help Owners Find the “Good Dog” in Every Dog
I am an Air Force wife, a full-time certified dog obedience trainer, and canine behavior specialist. In addition to working with my private training clients, I work with New Hope Cattle Dog Rescue to offer behavior consultation services within the organization’s current dogs and for new adopters.
I previously worked as technical support for a government contractor. My passion for animals started when I volunteered at the local shelter to work with their dogs. I loved all of their different personalities and enjoyed spending my spare time with them. This experience sparked my interest in canine behavior. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to change careers and start Pineapple Dog Training to do what I truly love- help dogs become better understood.
I studied to received my certification for dog training through Animal Behavior College. During this time, I started a professional pet care business, so that I could have more hands-on experience working with dogs. Once I received my certification, I started my training career working with basic behavioral issues and obedience cases. As I gained more experience, I was able to take on a variety of cases and now handle anything from complex behavioral cases to housebreaking.
I believe that, unfortunately, misunderstandings surrounding canine behavior have led to behavior modification methods (or a lack of implementation of proper methods) that are not only ineffective but can actually worsen the behavior they are intending to change or cause behavioral problems in other areas of the dog’s life. That’s why I feel it is so rewarding to provide pet owners with a way to communicate with and understand their canine companions.
