Gru’s story began more than three years ago, on the day he was rescued from the mountains above Almuñécar. we intervened after receiving reports of several dogs living in terrible conditions.
the dogs had to remain in the shelter for a long time. Gru, in particular, needed time — time to heal, to trust, and to feel safe again.
Today, Gru has recovered remarkably. He enjoys going for walks and has come a long way from the scared dog he once was. Sadly, due to limited volunteer time, he doesn’t get to go out as often as he deserves.
After everything he has been through, it is time for Gru to finally have a family of his own.

Samba’s story is heartbreaking. In the summer of 2020, she was found in terrible condition with a head wound — someone had tried to harm her with a shovel. A kind man rescued her, took her to the vet, and she recovered.

For the past three years, Samba has been waiting in her concrete kennel for a loving home. At night, she carefully arranges all her toys in her bed — a small sign of her sweet and organized nature.

Samba is extremely intelligent. She sits attentively when someone speaks to her and looks into your eyes while being petted, eager to please and learn.

Dallas and Daenerys were rescued from the streets together with their siblings. They were an unwanted litter, abandoned to their fate due to a lack of sterilisation.

As puppies, they were lucky enough to grow up in a foster home, safe and cared for. But once they grew older, they were moved to the shelter — where they have now been waiting for months, slowly fading into the background.

They are friendly, playful dogs who simply haven’t had the chance to discover the outside world yet. Shelter life has limited their experiences, but their curiosity and good nature are still very much there.

🖤 Descansa en paz, Naledi.
Me entristece mucho decir que Naledi, nuestra perrita rescatada más longeva, ha fallecido sin encontrar un hogar definitivo. Es una auténtica lástima. La saqué de la perrera de Motril en 2017; con dos meses, estaba muy asustadiza y mordía... quién sabe por lo que ya había pasado.
En la residencia no mejoró, así que la tuve en acogida un tiempo, siempre con cautela, pero creo que le gusta estar con nuestra manada. Por desgracia, se estaba volviendo más dominante y propensa a morder a nuestra perrita, así que regresó a la residencia... y se quedó. Un fracaso, sí. ¿Mi culpa? Quizás. Pero no podemos salvar a todos los perros y darles la vida perfecta. Y eso es una lástima. El abandono es una lástima. Las camadas no deseadas son una lástima. Como rescatistas, nos esforzamos, estamos ahí, los llevamos al veterinario cuando se enferman... con Naledi, fue un problema cardíaco, tan grave que le llenó la barriga de líquido, y el veterinario dijo que lo más amable era dejarla ir...
Adiós, querida. Espero que exista el paraíso perruno y que tengas una vida mejor que la que tienes aquí en la Tierra.

I´m very sad to say that Naledi, our longest rescue, has died without ever finding her forever home. This really sucks.I took her out of the Motril pound in 2017, at 2 moths old she was very scared and would bite... god knows what she had gone though already.
In the residence she did not advance, so I had her in fostering for a while, alway cautious, but i think she likes being in our pack of dogs. Unfortunately she wa becoming more dominant and treatent to bite our little dog, so she returned to the residence.... and stayed. A failure, yes. My fault? Pehaps. But we cannot save every dog and give thm the perfect life. And that sucks. Abandonment sucks. Unwanted litters suck.
As rescuers we try, we are there, we take them to the vet when they fall sick... with Naledi it was a heart problem, bad enough to give her a liquid filled belly and the vet said the kind thing is to let her go...
Goodby sweet girl. Hope doggy heaven exists and you have a better life than the one you got here on earth.
