My Story

I am a BHS Accredited Professional Coach and Ride Safe Trainer based near Horncastle, Lincolnshire. I am fully insured to undertake freelance coaching, handling and ridden work and am First Aid and Safeguarding trained.

I have over 30 years experience of riding and handling horses of all ages and abilities and nearly 15 years coaching experience. I have successfully competed with British Showjumping and British Dressage, recently coming 9th at the Kent and Masters Quest National Championships 2018.

I have had a passion for horses since learning to ride at the age of 6 years old, from then on I grabbed every opportunity I could to work with horses, regularly helping out at my local riding school and riding any horse that was offered to me!

After leaving school I worked in the Financial sector, whilst still pursuing my passion in my spare time. Married life and children followed until I took the decision to fulfil my dream to work in the equine industry. In 2003 I enrolled with Lincoln College and attained an NVQ Level 2 in Horse Care (including Schooling Horses) and a Level 3 Advanced National Certificate in Horse Management (including Equestrian Teaching). Alongside training for these qualifications I also attained my BHS Assistant Instructor Certificate (now known as BHS Stage 3 Coach in Complete Horsemanship) and later on attained BHS stage 4 Intermediate Stable Manager Certificate (now known as BHS Stage 4 Senior Groom). I also have a Level 4 Certificate in Education (Cert. Ed) and Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Candidates which enabled me to work in Higher Education, delivering Level 2 and Level 3 Equine courses, and assessing candidates. I have worked on a number of yards including an eventing yard, private livery yards and several riding schools. I also have experience coaching for the Pony Club and coordinating a Pony club Centre.
