Meet the staff Monday:

Meet Taylor! Taylor is our incredible office manager!

Taylor is from and currently resides in Taylorsville, NC with her husband and large accumulation of animals including her dog, Journey; cows, donkeys, and ducks.

Taylor started at BAH as a high school intern in 2013, working throughout high school until moving away to college in 2017. After receiving her bachelors and masters degrees in Animal Science, she returned to BAH just over a year ago and is now serving as our office manager.

Her favorite breed of dog (or cat) is anything rescued! But her favorite cow breed is a Holstein.

On the weekend you can find her.... sitting the pasture with her animals, being aggressively loved on by Satin or picking up Journey's seemingly endless pile of toys.

Thank you Taylor for all you do!

Have and Happy and Safe Halloween.

Protect Your Fur-Babies this Halloween;
It’s not uncommon for our canine and feline companions to feel anxious during trick-or-treat time. After all, the doorbell is ringing all night, and strangers dressed in bizarre clothing are coming and going. If you notice your Fur-Babies are anxious please give your local veterinarian a call.

Before Trick-or-Treating;
Double check that they’re wearing proper, up-to-date identification (collar with ID tags). If your pet doesn’t have a microchip, the holiday season is a good time to consider it!

Good morning BAH community!

Thank you all for the immense generosity you have shown as we have been taking up donations for hurricane relief. Hopping on here today to update that I have already taken two car and trailer loads for supply drops. Many communities have been great in donating non-perishable food items and supplies but as the weather is now getting colder, some needs are changing.

Non-perishable food items are still an obvious necessity but communities are now asking for winter supply items such as: blankets, individual sleeping bags, hand warmers, jackets, gloves, etc.
Various child items are still in low supply as well (children's toiletries, formula, diapers).

Thank you all for your continued support! I will continue to take donations as long as there continues to be a need for them. Please call our office if you have any questions or concerns or would like to help in any way.

Hope everyone has a fantastic rest of their week!

Good morning Bethlehem community! In lieu of our usual meet the staff Monday post, I have a different announcement to make this morning.

Due to the devastation seen in surrounding areas from Hurricane Helene, Taylor is working in conjunction with Watauga County 4-H that will be distributing supplies to Watauga, Wilkes and surrounding counties. She will be setting up a supply drop area in our lobby if you would like to donate!

Please reach out with any questions or concerns! Thank you all!

Why is year round heartworm prevention and routine heartworm testing so important?

•It only takes one mosquito to transmit the blood-borne parasite that causes heartworm disease.

•In areas with heavy mosquito populations, there are more species of mosquitoes that are able to transmit the disease.

•By the time clinical signs appear, the disease is usually advanced- that is why yearly testing is recommended.

•Treatment can be very challenging, requiring almost complete crate rest for atleast 6 months. There are also no approved drugs for treating heartworm disease in cats.

•Prevention is EASY! Average cost is $30/month as compared to $1,000 for treatment.

Call us today to see if your pet is up to date on their heartworm prevention!
