Good Morning !!
It has taken me, this long, to finally talk about, Sasha's last days on this earth.
I think she knew, that she was dying, during the last few weeks. And even though ,it was cold outside, she would always want to go outside around sunset....and,(once she took care of her business), she would sit down, always towards the sun. And, slowly watch the sun set. I would kneel down behind her, and just give her a big hug and pet her. I could feel as she would just relax herself, into my arms, and look up at me, as if too say, thanks Dad.
And, once the sun got out of sight, she would look up at me, hop up, and be like, it's o.k., let's go inside !!
I always wondered, what her life must have been like, living on the streets of Cairo, Egypt. Never having a real home, running with a pack of dogs, fending for food and shelter everyday. I was fortunate enough to visit Cairo, years ago, but I can't imagine the life she had. I am very happy that she got to spend, the last years of her life, living with us, and our "pack" of "kids". I do think though, it was her first time, integrated with Kittens and Cats ,Lol !!
But, they all added to the pack, in our house !! We also lost her older sister, Sierra, a few months after Sasha.
Our household is now just 8 Cats strong, and we do miss the "girls".
Sasha will always, have a special place in our hearts !! And I always try to say, to anyone who has lost a loved one. As long as you keep them, in your head and in your heart,
They are always with you !!
God bless you all !!
Peace
