Bonnie, like many of our dogs, came from a cruel and sad past🥺 She lived her life on a short chain (last picture) and was raised for meat 😡At one time she was pregnant, but none of her babies survived🌈
Thankfully, one of our partner rescues was able to save this sweet girl👏 She was treated for heartworm (all cleared), cared for and was able to spend time in a loving foster home💗
Bonnie is good with people, but, as expected she can be a little shy and is afraid of men. We can only guess this is from cruelty and suspected abuse she endured❤️🩹 When she was in a foster home she lived with a 10-year-old kid and shared a bed with them - she would do well in a family with older children (so they understand to give her space and time).
She is also good with dogs 🐶 Bonnie will greet them gently with a wagging tail, but is more comfortable with dogs she is familiar with.
She’s good on a leash, but will freeze if there are any big noises. We believe the ideal home for her will be somewhere laid back and quiet. She wouldn’t do well in the big city life or a home that is very busy.
