The journey of this fire place… these ikea bookshelves really helped bring it all together. I wanted some more color and contrast, so I sanded and painted the backer to the shelves. Turned out cute. ☺️ not perfect since I could have built it to completely fill the space, but I have a ton of other important things to do as well; however, it still added a lot to the comfort and homely feel with the time and money invested. #doesnthavetobeperfect

Creating good looking and budget friendly storage for the mud and laundry areas. 😎 I’m all about good storage. @secondusebuildingmaterials ended up being a great place to find some shelf material and tiles for a great price too 🤑. getting close to tile install with the waterproof membrane down. Eeeek. Haha. This particular method is also good for sound and cracking 😉

Soooooo much sanding before staining and adding the final satin clear coat. I think all the hard work paid off though 😉. Lots of lessons learned and a some minor details that aren’t perfect, but overall this staircase is looking pretty badass. Got this Amazing goose neck light fixture from Second Use. I welded a back plate plate and bulb base to it prior to painting it matte black, and plan to install it above the entrance to the Tiny house. I'm incorporating and rehoming lots of items for this build, and making it look amazing! This tiny house will be available soon as a rental on our once market garden in Seatac... stay tuned. 🤓
