🚨 NEWBIE ALERT: LETTIE 🚨
We’d like to introduce our newest rescue: Lettie! Her past family was no longer able to care for her, so she’s been living in boarding for the past few weeks while she waits to find a new foster or forever home. Lettie is a 6-year-old English Mastiff who weighs 100.4 pounds. She’s currently very underweight and undergoing heartworm treatment, but with some extra love and TLC, we will have her healthy and happy in no time!
Lettie is a bit of a special case as she needs to be an only pup. She is not fond of kitties or doggies and would be best suited in a home with just adults or families with older children. Due to her size and dislike for small creatures, we do not feel comfortable placing her with small children.
We know she will be a harder one for us to place, but we believe the right home is out there for every dog, so if you have a special place in your heart for senior mastiffs, Lettie might just be the perfect pup for you! If you’d like to foster or adopt this sweet girl, please get in touch with us! 💜

Pupdate: Joe!
We have some exciting updates to share about Joe!
Adopted quickly in 2021, Joe was returned to us last year due to fear and reactivity towards other dogs. Unfortunately he’s been in boarding since, awaiting a suitable foster.
Recently we partnered with @veterank9 Purpose for Paws Camp and sent Joe to their board and train program. Initially very fearful, Joe warmed up and won everyone over within 24 hours. Over the past month, he’s gained confidence playing in daycare and interacting well with other dogs on a leash. Streetdog Foundation never gives up on a dog who has behavioral quirks, so we owe a huge thanks to Josh and his team for their incredible work, and believing in Joe.
While the work is never over, Joe is about to graduate from the training program, and is ready for a foster or forever home. We’re here to help anyone interested in giving Joe a home by offering continued support and training resources.
Joe’s Ideal Home:
* Ability to provide a structured household and routine
* Provide proper exercise
* Treat Joe as a family member
* Respect Joe’s communication
Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in giving Joe the loving home he deserves! #sdfjoequapaw

PUPDATE: Nana
Nana moved into a foster home this week with SDF alum Victor! She’s settling in nicely and we’ve started getting some tail wags. Last night she got her first medicated bath and is sporting an absolutely adorable pair of pajamas to help keep her cozy while her skin heals. We knew we couldn’t keep this sweet video to ourselves! #sdfnananettie #adoptable
First Bath Time 🛁 !! She wasn’t sure whether to hate it or love it 😂 #sdfGorgeousDog will be getting weekly baths to cure her mange and soothe her itchy skin.
🌟 PUPDATE: GORGEOUS DOG (🔈Sound on for a medical update)
We have some good news to share about our beloved Gorgeous Dog! She's started on Demodex meds and anti-fungal treatments for her skin, all aimed at giving her the comfort she deserves. Next up on her journey is heartworm treatment, a much-needed spay, and multiple tooth extractions. It's a road ahead, but she's facing it with the same sweet spirit that initially captured our hearts.
Doc's words say it all: "She's just so sweet." Despite her hardships, she radiates gratitude for every bite of food and every ounce of love she receives. Gorgeous has been soaking it up and giving lots of kisses. She's been trying to sit in laps or cuddle close, reminding us of the power of love to heal.
But here's the best part: she's medically cleared to move to her foster home! She will be leaving this evening - check our stories to see her foster freedom ride!
Thank you to everyone who has supported Gorgeous Dog on her journey. Your kindness and generosity have made moments like these possible.
Stay tuned for more updates on Gorgeous! 🐾💕 #sdfGorgeousDog #adoptable #rescuedog #memphis
🚨PUPDATE: GORGEOUS DOG 💕Gorgeous is resting at Grace Animal Hospital this evening under the care of the talented medical team. Doc wants her to stay a little longer for observation, ensuring we get a full picture of her health concerns. Clearly, her life has been challenging. Malnutrition has left its mark, along with scabby ears, runny eyes, and the telltale signs of years gone by in her worn teeth - some of which may need to be extracted. Her condition didn't get this bad in 2 weeks, so her owner may not have been able to care for himself for a long while, as well. 😭We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming love and support of the Memphis animal welfare community that has rallied around Gorgeous. She has a foster commitment waiting for her, ensuring she'll soon have a loving home. Your support keeps us going. Keep sharing and donating to aid in Gorgeous Dog's recovery and help us provide hope and love for other dogs in the Midsouth. 🐾💕#sdfgorgeousdog #adoptable #roadtowellness #rescuedog #memphis
🚨 FREEDOM RIDE: GORGEOUS DOG 🚨
Heartbreaking doesn't even begin to describe it. Gorgeous Dog spent two weeks lying faithfully beside her deceased owner before she was found when officers did a wellness check at her home. She cried as they led her away from the scene. Can you imagine the loyalty and love in her heart?
Because of her age and poor health condition, Gorgeous Dog immediately ended up on the euthanasia list at MAS. Although we don't typically pull from shelters, we knew we needed to help Gorgeous and get her the care she needed to thrive in her senior years.
Gorgeous Dog took her freedom ride yesterday with one of our long-term volunteers. Even though she was a little nervous about her journey, she was so grateful and sweet, constantly thanking Jess with kisses and tail wags. Each time she stopped petting her, Gorgeous politely asked for more love with a gentle paw or kiss.
At 10 years old, underweight at 52 lbs, and battling heartworms, Gorgeous Dog's journey to health won't be easy. But we will give her the care and love she deserves. We are awaiting test results, but she is resting comfortably at Grace Animal Hospital today. Stay tuned for a medical update later this afternoon.
Please consider donating to help offset the medical costs of caring for Gorgeous Dog and sharing this post with your network. Every contribution makes a difference! #sdfGorgeousDog #adoptable #roadtowellness #rescuedog #wedontdeservedogs #memphis
For Sybil’s 6th birthday, she asked her friends and family to bring treats and donations for the pups of Streetdog Foundation instead of gifts for her. This sweet, selfless act brought so much joy to the dogs in boarding including #adoptable Novella. Thank you so much to Sybil and her mom Stephanie! We are so thankful for your kindness and generosity! Happy Birthday! 💜💛🎂🐶
ARTHUR IS HOME SAFE!! 💜💛💜
For those who may not have seen, alumni Arthur went missing from his grandpawrent’s home Tues afternoon. His family and friends posted him all over social media and went to EVERY neighbors home to show his picture and ask if he was seen. By Saturday morning there were still NO sightings.
At that time a dog tracking team was brought in to help find him because there was SO MUCH land to cover in the area he was lost. Family also went out again to put up signs at every intersection, hand out flyers and reach out to more neighbors. After using multiple dogs and tracking until sunset with no sign of him, the best guess was that Arthur may have been picked up at a church down the road.
Everyone planned on going out with more signs and flyers Sunday, but guess who turned up at the door!!!
Arthur was finally home safe with no injuries. Best guess is that some nice person was taking care of him, saw the flyers, and dropped him off when they saw how much his family missed him! We are thankful to whoever helped him on his journey, and brought him home safely! 🙏💜
This just shows that taking the time to get flyers, posters, social media posts, and talking to neighbors can make the difference in getting your lost baby back home! 🏠🐶💛
