Many of you may already be aware of this issue but we wanted to also highlight a potentially serious problem for the animal rescue community and pet owners. Recently, the Save This Life microchip company has shut down. Their microchips are no longer searchable in the AAHA database (www.petmicrochiplookup.org) that shelters and veterinarians rely on to be able for us to reunite you with your lost pet. We do know of a few LOCAL veterinary clinics and rescues have used these chips. Never fear, though! Here are four different options to register your pets chips with:

AKC Reunite – www.akcreunite.org
Free Pet Chip Registry – www.freepetchipregistry.com
If you need help scanning your pets or identifying whether or not your pet has a Save This Life chip, please feel free to bring your animals by the shelter during business hours and we can get you sorted!
