We are an all volunteer group at Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter.
We hold weekly walks with the dogs at the shelter and work to promote all of the wonderful animals available for adoption there.
While it was too cold for dog walking tonight, a few of our dedicated volunteers came in after hours to give our dogs some time out of their kennels and a little excercise.
Each dog got a short walk outside for a potty break and then some play time and a few laps indoors. They also enjoyed some one on one time with our volunteers and few extra treats.
Our walking buddy Winky would really love a home of his own.
We had a really nice Wednesday night walk tonight. We were joined by Winky, Pixie, Beorn, Merry, and Coachella. What a fun group of dogs.

Kirsi, Bubbles, Winky, Dandy, and Pixie all got out of the shelter for a one mile walk today, but the only pictures I got were of Pixie. She was very happy to be out of the shelter enjoying the day. It was a great day to walk some shelter dogs.

While the shelter is closed until Wednesday for the holiday, there are still a few dogs spending their Christmas in the shelter. Today, I took Winky, Kirsi, and Bubbles all out for a walk.
They all loved theit time out of the shelter and hope you'll come meet them when the shelter opens again on Wednesday.

Headed into the shelter early today to get some of our friends out for walks. Jyri, Kirsi, Mother Burnside, and Fudge all had wonderful walks, but they'd really rather have a home for the holidays. The shelter is open two more days before closing for the holidays so come out and meet them.
DJ made a guest appearance at the volunteer party today before getting out for a walk. He was a big fan of the celebration.
We were able to get six dogs out for Dog Walking Club tonight. The Bissell Empty the Shelters event is happening now, with reduced adoption fees through Saturday, so come on out and meet our walking buddies. They'd all love a home for the Holidays.
No Dog Walking Club today, but here are some pictures/video from my afternoon at the shelter. Besito, DJ Khaled, Melba, and Kringla all got time outside for some fresh air and then had a little indoor fun too. These are some really great dogs!

I love a big old goofy boy. Besito had a nice Sniffari this morning and then got a little one on one time for some treats and love.
The shelter is open until 5pm today and dog adoption fees are reduced for Bissell Come meet him!
We only had one dog.who could go out for our dog walk tonight, so Pinwheel and I had a nice solo walk.. She was a very good girl and happy to get some love and treats.
Pizelle was recently spayed and can only go for short leash walks, so I took her on a mini walk. She was pretty excited to get outside.
These two good girls would both really love a family of their own.
Made a last minute decision to take advantage of our sunny morning and spend some time at the shelter. It was great to be able to get Lt. Cable, Skimbleshanks, and Sergei out of the shelter for some fresh air and excercise.
There are four adootable dogs that will be spending the Thanksgiving weekend at the shelter. We made sure that they all got out for a walk tonight. Sergei, Skimbleshanks, Uncle Albert, and Lt. Cable enjoyed their time out of the shelter and were all very good boys.
While I wish they all had homes of their own for the Holiday, I am thankful knowing that they have a warm safe place to stay and will have fully bellies this weekend. I'm also thankful for the kennel staff who will spend their Thanksgiving at the shelter making sure that all of the dogs and cats will receive love and care while they are waiting for their forever homes.

Segei and Lt. Cable had a great Saturday morning out of the shelter. We were happy for a nice sunny morning for our walk.
Uncle Albert, Lt. Cable, and Riff joined us for a really nice walk on this mild November evening. These boys walked so nicely together. Such sweet boys.
After our walk we had time to take Sergei for a short adventure too. He was much more interested in sniffing than walking, but definitely enjoyed his times outside.
I'm glad we were able to get all four of these good boys out of the shelter for some fun tonight.
Seaweed J Stubbs, Eddie Muenster, and Annie were happy to get out for a nice walk tonight. Even though it's dark during our walk now, we still enjoy getting the dogs out for some fresh air and excercise.
Not pictured is Penny Pingleton who was a little shy about getting her picture taken, but also enjoyed her walk tonight.
Selene loved our dog walk this morning. Eddie Muenster and Chuckwalla also loved our walk, but they were so excited i forgot to get pictures. It was a great day for a walk.

Today was a great Fall day for a dog walk. As you can tell from the pictures, Thing, Selene, Thackery Binx, Eddie Muenster, and Dyson all enjoyed their walk and one on one time with our volunteers. And then I got some love from Banshee the puppy.
The shelter is open until 5pm today. Go out and meet our friends! They would love to go home with you.
No dog walking club tonight, but I stopped to take Bogeyman out for a lunchtime walk today. What a sweet boy!

Coachella, Crash, and Chiquita were all pretty happy to join us for our Saturday morning walk. It was a beautiful Fall morning to be outside.
We had several dogs who have recently been spayed or neutered who weren't available to walk with us, so tonight we just walked Chiquita.
That afforded me the opportunity to spend some one on one time with Coachella after our walk. She was too scared to let me put a harness on her so she could join our walk, but that's okay. We never force a dog to do anything it isn't comfortable with. Since she is a nervous little girl, just sitting with her in her kennel and giving her some delicious treats was the perfect way to end my day. What a sweetheart.
Topanga didn't love looking at the camera, but she did love her walk. She put her nose to good work, rolled in the grass, and got some love. Plus she walks like a champ on leash.. What a sweet girl.
Fun with beagles. Radcliffe and Lilith were so happy to get out for our dog walk last night. They are great walkers and enjoyed the chance to use those beagle noses.
Diego had so much fun on our Wednesday night dog walk. He's a great little guy.
