From my writers Pat and Laura, who have 12 rescued shelter parrots: The FDA has issued a recall of a widely-distributed parrot seed diet sold at Walmart and other major stores. It's 3-D Pet Products' Premium Parrot Food sold in a clear plastic canister. There's a danger of salmonella that can harm both parrots and humans. Check this link for more info, and Pat and Laura urge you to feed your parrots a better diet than this anyway.

THIS is why I do what I do! I had a special little crimson bellied conure girl and wanted her to have a very special home, so I was selective in who got her. This family is perfect!

When we got home we tried to put her in her cage, and she did these cute little noises begging to come out. So we let her. She was an absolute love! She played poker with us, ate, snuggled everyone, gave kisses, got head scratches and fell asleep in my hand. I couldn't believe how trusting and sweet she was to four strangers. It truly shows how loved and cared for she was by you.

Even my brother in law, who is scared of birds, fell in love with her.

I add red pepper flakes to my parrots' "bird bread" and also chop up red peppers in their daily feed.
