This is what the coat of a dog fed a species appropriate diet looks like. Thanks to a big kibble scare that started in Oct and is still going on, Lokisauraus has finally been switched to fully raw diet. His environmental allergies all but disappeared, he has healthy p**p and way less of it, his coat is silky and shiny, etc.

Spread this far and wide, and be sure to let Wyoming, Wyoming Fish and Game, Cody Roberts, USFWS, the DOI, Deb Haaland, President Biden, and all your representatives know that this is unacceptable, and we want our essential wolves relisted, protected, and laws to change in Wyoming.

HILLS GETTING SUED FOR TWO BILLION DOLLARS...
Ever notice how ALL the lawsuits seem to involve Hills Pet Food?!

Strange that, isn't it? For such a reputable company!!

You can totally see why the entire veterinary industry backs companies like them and Purina, made by Nestlé, the most boycotted food company in the world (rather than fresh dog food companies without a single lawsuit or mass-pet-killing episode between them, for example!) so fervently.

Already in court over their alleged illegal use of the word prescription (on a product with no medicinal qualities whatsoever), this time Daniel Schulof, a lawyer by trade and owner of a popular US grain-free pet food company, KetoNatural, is suing Hills, along with all the whitecoat vets involved (scientists that produce "studies" on demand to support a product) - Freeman, Stern and Adin - for ALLEGEDLY colluding with the FDA to convince the public grain-free pet food was causing DCM in dogs, thereby repressing the growth of grain-free pet food and thus Daniel’s sales.

[We all know Lisa Freeman on here. If you don't, I have a video coming out on her "greatest hits" next week. Stay tuned!]

Now, if you're reading this page, you'd be aware of this (alleged) SCAM by Hills and the FDA as it was pure cannon fodder for me and other nut-job pet health science bloggers with penchants for exposing the worst of the psychopathic tendencies of companies that prey on the health of our pets via the pockets of their owners, such as Judy Morgan and Susan Thixton.

I was personally made aware of it by Daniel himself back in 2018. In fact, it takes up nearly half of the chapter in my book, Feeding Dogs, where I highlight all the egregious science scams going on in the dry pet food sector.

So many to choose from.

There’s little doubt that this (alleged) SCAM was effective. I mean, impact on the sales of more natural kibbles aside, and it did impact them badly, we have today fully grown vets, scientists by training, apparently, still recommending that folk NEED to feed cereal-based diets to protect their pets from DCM (despite DCM historically being a cereal-based pet food issue. It was the whole reason AAFCO was created - cereal-based pet foods were killing so many cats and dogs with it in the 70’s...).

Now, if you asked these vets what exactly do they think is in cereal that is PROTECTIVE of heart health, they would of course go silent. But then, explaining the rationale for feeding meat eaters lots of cereal has never really been their strong point.

But just for a moment, spare a thought for Schulof, the hero in this story.

Imagine, years spent building up the business, trying to make a superior, more suitable type of pet food for pet owners, only to have the rug pulled (apparently, trying to be careful here) out from under him via some crooked shenanigans.

Very hard to take. Luckily for all of us, Daniel's not going to.

Can you imagine the effort for Daniel to get it to this? Six years to get them to court. Think of that. Think of the effort. The mental investment. The financial investment. The pressure on him and his young family.

So, the worlds pet owners thank you DanielSchulof and the very best of luck with your fight.

The suit is seeking “lost profits, reputational damages, and other economic injuries in an amount exceeding $2 billion”.

Here's hoping he gets every penny.

Does cleaning your floor make your air dirty? A recent study says yes.😱

Mopping your floor with limonene-containing cleaners🪣 (keep reading for our pet-safe DIY cleaner recipe) for just a few minutes can create as much air pollution as traffic 🚙 on a busy city street, according to researchers. The aerosols generated by mopping with commercial grade lemon🍋- or pine🌲-scented chemicals can be inhaled deep into the lungs 🫁 (by both humans and animals) causing irritation and leading to health issues 😷 like allergies, cancer, and more.

So can you have a clean floor AND clean air? Also yes! 🥳 Researchers found that use of an air purifier during mopping can significantly reduce the concentration 📉 of harmful aerosols.

In our Forever Dog LIFE Learning Lab group, we show you how to make a budget-friendly DIY air purifier to minimize indoor air pollution. 🙌 [If you haven't signed up yet for this free weekly masterclass, you can learn more at www.ForeverDogLIFE.com/learninglab]

📺️ Are you up to date on the DCM debacle? Head over to my YouTube channel to watch today's upload for a full rundown.

In 2019, the FDA released a list of 16 brand names of grain-free pet foods possibly linked to Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM). In 2022, the FDA quietly added a note to their website stating no such link between grain-free diets and DCM could be found.

*There are no official recalls for these brands yet. We are awaiting additional lab results from food samples. At this time, we are only comfortable with brands using Human Grade Ingredients (vs. Feed Grade).

If you believe ANY BRAND of pet food is causing or has caused illness or death:
Stop the food immediately.
The FDA is investigating the issue. Report it to the FDA: https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/report-problem/how-report-pet-food-complaint
Contact your veterinarian. Request a copy of your pet's medical records. Report your concerns to the pet food company and ask your vet to do the same.
PLEASE COMPLETE THIS SURVEY: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/savingpets

The 2007 melamine recalls involved 100+ brands of pet food due to contaminated vegetable proteins.

SAVE THE PET FOOD. Do NOT agree to send the pet food company the food. If you feel compelled to do so, only send a small portion. Keep the rest of the food in original packaging, closed securely, and stored away from pets and people. Do NOT send the medical records to the pet food company. Document your conversation with the pet food company.

The pet food company may offer to pay your vet bills and reimburse you for your pet food. If you agree to this they will ask you to sign a form which will prohibit you from taking legal action. If there is a class action lawsuit you will be unable to join if you do this or if you want to take your own legal action.

It is YOUR choice to feed what you feel is safe for your pets. Here is a free list of brands I trust to feed to my own pets: http://tinyurl.com/k98h4vcf
I also trust "The List" by consumer advocate, Susan Thixton. There are more options on her list and the $10 supports her full time work advocating for safe pet foods for our pets:
