Friends of Bedford County Animals is a group of volunteers that helps local shelters and rescues find loving homes for abandoned and homeless animals.

The adoption fee for dogs is 63.00 at BCAC which includes a spay and neuter,distemper/parvo,bordetella,worming,flea and tick,and rabies shot. The adoption fee for cats is 43.00 and includes the same except the distemper/parvo and bordetella is replaced with a feline vaccine. They take only cash or checks NO debit or credit cards. They try hard to get as many animals placed into new families as possible. They are very adoption friendly. They even do out of state adoptions if transportation can be arranged. They are generally closed on any major holidays. It is always good to call ahead and check with the staff if you are surrendering any animals. Late mornings and afternoons are generally a better time for viewing animals. Animal Control services within the city limits.is serviced by Shelbyville Animal Control there number is 931-684-6552. They are rescue friendly> They also sell pet supplies and treats and the money goes toward the care of the animals.
