Hi Cannoli fans! Cannoli’s mom here. I wanted to share a few pictures from our Wedding and Rehearsal where we honored Cannoli’s memory. He was our best sweet boy! We also served cannoli as an additional dessert both at our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception.

He was so loved and missed, but we did our best to honor him!

Hi all - It is Cannoli’s Mom, Joanna, here.

We are very sad to announce that our sweet pup, Cannoli, crossed the rainbow bridge last month after suffering kidney failure as a result of Cushing’s Disease and Diabetes.

Cannoli was the best of us. He was innocent, sweet, loyal, loving, stubborn and did things his way. There was no better companion, no better friend, no better little spoon. He was our light, our baby, and joy. He was beloved literally by all who met him, including celebrity . He loved burrowing under blankets and “left-pawing” his way to whatever he wanted.

Our grief is even more acute, knowing he will not be the Best Dog in our Wedding. The grief is unbearable at the moment, but we know he is no longer suffering. He was my best good boy. He loved squeaky toys and food, barking at home intruders, bacon, snuggles, sniffing, and attention. He loved people and children and was so, so, sweet. He waited for me outside of the bathroom every day. He made sure I was safe, always. He loved attacking Chris’s ears in play. He hated dancing, and we often lovingly referred to him as “Footloose.” He was our best friend.

We look forward to our wedding, but miss our best good boy immensely. Here’s to Cannoli. May he rest in peace.

I’m so glad my parents rescued me as an older dog! They say I’m the best thing that ever happened to them, and I agree 🐶❤️

PLEASE don’t forget about senior dogs when looking for your new addition! Senior dogs are AMAZING!! And you’d be missing out on something incredibly special!

Why Have A National Dachshund Day When EVERY DAY Is Dachshund Day?

Well Doxies are one of the most popular pet breeds in the world.

In the US, National Dachshund Day is typically celebrated on June 21.
Why that date? June 21 can seem a bit arbitrary at first.
But June 21 is celebrated as the National Dachshund Day because it’s the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. And since Doxies are the longest dog breed proportional to its size, it stands to reason that we’d celebrate these dogs on June 21.

PLEASE leave your dogs at home when you are going places they cannot go inside with you.

It only takes 10 minutes for the interior temperature of a car to reach a potentially fatal 109 degrees on 90-degree day. Since dogs can only regulate heat through panting and minor sweat glands on their footpads, temperatures above 104-degrees put them at high risk of overheating and could cause their death.

I can fight the wildest raccoon or play with the gentlest child.

I can hunt all day in snow storms, pouring rain or blistering heat and then ask you to throw the ball when we get done.

I will argue with you at every turn. After all, I know what I'm doing and the best way to get it done.

I am easy to feed. I will eat your steak or the dead, rotten rabbit I found in the field.

You will never be without a navigator in the truck.

I will protect you from burglars, raccoons, badgers and that strange pesky shadow in the corner of the house.

I will hog the bed and the couch.

I will steal your sandwich, your chair, your boot, and your heart.

You will never have to go to the bathroom alone ever again.

I will lick your face right after I eat the head off the rabbit I just killed in the yard.

I will sleep next to you when you are sick and heal you with my love.
