Happy Holidays and Feliz Navidog from all of us doggos in Sonora Mexico.
Thanks to our Patreon donors and those who have helped me buy dog food and get spays done this past year!
We would like a farm property and a relocation for Christmas!
People ask me often why I haven't just left already!
1. we have to have a place to go.
2. we need transport, remember the reason we're in this side of the road town is because we had a total loss car wreck. yes I'm lucky I lived, but to be fair, there are some days I wish I had been in Tuscany when it happened. it's a tough place to be stranded
3. US citizens cannot buy a car and drive it to the US
4. there is no transport here, I'd have to hire a private company and well, they need to TAKE US SOMEWHERE
5. That's several thousand $$$
6. I am responsible for 10 dogs. Even if I get Dusty and Solomon to admit their love for each other. That's 9. Andie can't be caught so that's 8. Pedro? Of the streets but also wants a home so badly. That's 7.
No matter, it's a lot of dogs and we're looking for a rural property. And yes, if there is a rural property in the US that isn't $3000 or more we'll happily come back north. I've been here 2.5 years and there is little to no change in the situation for dogs. And yes I know I can help dogs "anywhere" but this situation was dire, I was dropped here and I leaned in to it to be of service.
But I can't stay here forever.
I would at minimum like to live somewhere with a vet, a large fenced yard with trees! A barn/shed for mamas and pups, a store that sells socks and shoes, have an address for deliveries. Have access to healthy foods. Not walk a road that has 40 homeless dogs on it to go to the tienda and be the only person who is feeding them and giving them meds.
The little things. And a closet and a countertop would be swell too. :-)
Amen.
