Hey Schnauzer Friends - South Africa community. This is the many faces of our world famous Naughty Schnauzer 🐾💗 Thomas. He has a phd cm schlaude from the University of Schnaughtiness and hopes all schnauzers are enjoying a week filled with walks, cuddles, fun and schnaughtiness! Thomas says "If you do get caught doing schnaughtiness, remember to look cute and deny deny and deny! You are innocent until proven guilty in a schnauzer court of schlaw!!"

Thomas leads the howl along at our Johannesburg Schnauzer Friends South Africa fun walk. Our ONLINE Miniature 🐾💗 Schnauzer Home Grooming Course is perfect for schnauzerholics who want to learn how to home groom their miniature schnauzers.

When you home groom your miniature schnauzers, not only will you have more special one on one bonding time with them, you will also keep them safe from potential harm at mobile groomers and parlours. They will look fabulous with a proper schnauzer cut and you can groom when and where it suits you.

We have many happy schnauzer parents who have done the course and now comfortably groom at home with confidence. 🐾💗

UPDATE ON ADOPTION

We have been inundated with calls from people who would like to adopts the girls, together with Schnauzer Rescue we have found a wonderful home for them. Their new mommy sadly lost her schnauzer in February, she will be with them all day, and they will be treated like royalty!!
We have two beautiful little girls looking for a home, they are miniature Schnauzers. Bella is a salt & pepper 6 year old, and Biscuit is a black 4 year old, these girls have grown up with each other since they were puppies so they need to be rehomed together. They have been brought up with cats, and are good with other dogs.

They need to go to a home with someone who knows the breed, as usual strict home check will be done.

There are many great resources on schnauzer care including our Schnauzer Friends - South Africa website. People are often given the incorrect info from vets or are ignorant on the correct care. Schnauzers seems to suffer when given the incorrect food.

Here are some ways to improve your Schnauzers Health:
Provide Love and Tummy Tickles
Feed Quality Fresh Dog Food (not dry pellets)
Exercise Your Dog
Vaccinate Less Often
Provide Dental Care
Do At-Home Routine Checkups

A LETTER FROM A DOG: We know and feel a dog’s love 💗 amazing capacity for love. They give us hugs and comfort all the time and especially at times when we need it the most. But have you ever wondered what dogs think and dream about? To give you an idea, read on to find out how we imagine your dog really thinks of you.

A letter from a Dog..... 🐾🐾🐾🐾

I am your dog, and I have a little something I’d like to whisper in your ear; I know that you humans lead busy lives. Some have to work, some have children to raise. It always seems like you are running here and there, often much too fast, often never noticing the truly grand things in life.

Look down at me now, while you sit there at your computer. See the way my dark brown eyes look at yours? They are slightly cloudy now. That comes with age. The grey hairs are beginning to ring my soft muzzle. You smile at me; I see love in your eyes. What do you see in mine? Do you see a spirit? A soul inside, who loves you as no other could in the world? A spirit that would forgive all trespasses of prior wrong doing for just a simple moment of your time?

That is all I ask; To slow down, if even for a few minutes to be with me. So many times you have been saddened by the words you read on that screen, of others of my kind, passing.Sometimes we die young and oh so quickly, sometimes so suddenly it wrenches your heart out of your throat. Sometimes, we age so slowly before your eyes that you may not even seem to know until the very end, when we look at you with grizzled muzzles and cataract clouded eyes. Still the love is always there, even when we must take that long sleep, to run free in a distant land.

I may not be here tomorrow; I may not be here next week. Someday you will shed the water from your eyes, that humans have when deep grief fills their souls, and you will be angry at yourself that you did not have just “One more day” with me.

Because I love you so, your sorrow touches my spirit and grieves me. We have NOW, together. So come, sit down here next to me on the floor, and look deep into my eyes. What do you see? If you look hard and deep enough we will talk, you and I, heart to heart. Come to me not as “alpha” or as “trainer” or even “Mom or Dad,” come to me as a living soul and stroke my fur and let us look deep into one another’s eyes, and talk. I may tell you something about the fun of chasing a tennis ball, or I may tell you something profound about myself, or even life in general. You decided to have me in your life because you wanted a soul to share such things with. Someone very different from you, and here I am.

I am a dog, but I am alive. I feel emotion, I feel physical senses, and I can revel in the differences of our spirits and souls. I do not think of you as a “Dog on two feet” — I know what you are. You are human, in all your quirkiness, and I love you still.

Now, come sit with me, on the floor. Enter my world, and let time slow down if only for 15 minutes. Look deep into my eyes, and whisper to my ears.

Speak with your heart, with your joy and I will know your true self. We may not have tomorrow, and life is oh so very short.

So please… come sit with me now and let us share the precious moments we have together.

NEW YEAR FIREWORKS💥: Most animals and birds do not enjoy fireworks. It is scary and noisy. Every year they cause many injuries and animals to run away. Let’s hope that humans are responsible tonight and don’t let them off. If they do here are some tips on how to keep your pets safe......

Stay at home with them. Comfort them and talk to them. Choose an inner room that is least impacted by the noise. Keep some lights on to calm your pet and make them feel more secure, rather than being scared in a dark room. Close the curtains in the room. Dampen the noise. Plan to use familiar sounds to drown out the noise of the fireworks. Music from a stereo or turning on the TV are likely familiar sounds that can sooth your pet. Make the room cozy. Put down familiar, clean bedding somewhere pleasant such as under a table, on or behind a chair, etc. Add some familiar chew toys, scratch pads, balls, etc. to keep your pets amused and distracted. Remove any sharp items from the room in case your pet starts jumping or running around.
