Hello, friends! 🐶💕
Long time, no see! First off, I’d like to take a moment to apologize for being so quiet on our QD Care socials. I know so many of you enjoy our pupdates and I apologize for them being a little MIA. But most importantly, I'd like to apologize to those whose messages I may have missed and hope it hasn't caused too much of an inconvenience in your path to finding great care for your babies. It's not always comfy to talk about mental health, but I always try to be transparent with the humans of the pups I love so much and feel you always deserve clarity. ❤️
This year has been a bit overwhelming for my anxiety—the tolls of post(ish)-pandemic life on business and staffing while trying to not raise rates and make anyone else's lives more expensive with these crazy gas prices have made this an incredibly difficult year to navigate. That combined with always trying to be available 24/7 for my clients has resulted in a bit of burnout, so I've been working on trying to establish more work/life boundaries for myself this year. It is virtually impossible to unplug completely from this job, which I understand is a privilege in and of itself—but unfortunately, this inadvertently resulted in me completely neglecting my social media accounts for the sake of being able to disconnect just a little more. We have been back on the ballot for Best of Long Island for a month and a half now (which I will talk more about in a moment!) and I've yet to post about it anywhere on social media simply because the thought of doing so has seemed too stressful. It really is so fascinating how just the thought of being ever so slightly more "online" can feel so overwhelming! We certainly live in a funny time.
I apologize for the long-winded message that is really just meant to say, "I may be quieter, but I promise I love your pups as much as ever and am working hard to make sure I am only giving them the best of me." If you are reading this and are struggling with your own work/life balance I hope that you see this as a sign to take the first step towards making a change that is healthy for you. It should very much be a normal thing for us to acknowledge and talk about when something just ain’t working. 🤗
Anyhoo, YES we are back on the ballot for Best of Long Island 2023 for BEST DOG WALKER and BEST PET SITTING/BOARDING! I think part of the reason my anxiety kept me from posting about this was the imposter syndrome that creeped in when I started setting work/life boundaries that made me feel like I was in any way “less dedicated” to work and therefore less deserving of these titles. Some may feel that appears to be true, I’m not sure. I am mostly posting now because some people have been asking me about it. But, I do know with my whole heart the love I have for your pups never waivers, and you’re simply not going to find someone who loves them harder. So, if you see fit, please vote QUADRINO DOG CARE INC. for BEST DOG WALKER and BEST PET SITTING/BOARDING 1X/DAY, EVERYDAY THROUGH DECEMBER 15. Not sure if another title is in the cards after being a month and a half behind on votes, but who knows!
