New Champion Maui! Maui finished her Championship in grand style by winning “Best Of Winners” at the Royal Canine National Dog show in Orlando on Saturday. Along the way to her championship she was awarded 3 specialty wins including a OS and a Award of Merit all from the 6-9 puppy class. Today is my bestest boy Panda’s 11th Birthday! There is no doubt I could fill this post with a list of his accomplishments as a show dog, therapy dog, service dog, dog model, performance dog and stud dog. However, today we celebrate the biggest accomplishment and roll he plays which is being my best friend! His heart is huge and he’s spent 11 years spreading his love to every person and animal (except that one white chicken) he’s met. His loyalty is fierce and unmatched by any human I’ve ever known. He greets every day with his amazing zest for life no matter what it brings. He’s the first thing I see every morning and the last thing I see every night. He’s the absolute one thing I can rely on to never let me down. The love I have for him can only be compared to the love he has for me. Happy Birthday P Bear!

In honor of International Dog Day I’m sharing some of the dogs that I’ve been fortunate enough to share my life with. All of them either bred by me or owned/co-owned. Each of them special in their own way. Some current and some from the past. Some show dogs and some not. Some live/lived with me and some were just part of my life but all of them hold a very special place in my heart.

14wk old Crush saying hello to everyone.

It’s been a very long week. I’ve had three friends pass away in the last 10 days. All three way too young. Sadly, due to social distancing there will be no services for any of them. I’m thankful that at least I’m super busy at work and not sitting at home and thinking about all the sad things going on in the world. Of course working in a veterinary ER/Specialty practice also comes with its share of sadness. On a better note, I was finally able to find a pool for the dog’s. It was nice to take a break from everything and enjoy my spots. Here is their first dip in the pool. I hope it brings a moment of joy to you, just as it did for me.

A little scary here at Bayside tonight. I’m getting tornado take cover warnings on my phone every few minutes. No rain but listen to the wind.

As promised here is a look inside the Convention Center before the AKC National starts tomorrow. As you can see it's quite the production. I think they said the total entry was over 11,000. If you've ever wanted to go to a dog show this is the one you want to go to. Hopefully, I'll be able to share a little each day as time allows.
