PENDING
Bullet is a 6 year old registered American Quarter Horse mare. She stands at about 15 hands and her registered name is ‘Bullets Blue Gal.’ I bought her as a filly when she was just 8 months old. She has a super solid base of groundwork: round penning, lunging, yielding hindquarters, backing, and all that. This horse is super easy to catch and will stand tied all day. We’ve done a fair amount of trailering and she does well; loads right up, sometimes she could use a bit coaxing but never major issues. She has been turned out with a variety of horses and does tend to be at the top of the pecking order. She is not barn or buddy sour. Super easy keeper and has always been sound and healthy. Bullet has wonderful ground manners and will stand to have her feet handled, fly spray, baths, etc. She will lower head on cue and also does know the general idea of ground tying. She is also fine around dogs. She is super friendly and has a somewhat humorous personality.
Bullet has just been my personal horse and I’ve mostly ridden her western although I did have her in a English saddle a few times for fun. She is super broke, no buck, bite, or anything like that. I’ve done a lot of trail riding with her and a bit of arena work, even took her through a fast food drive through once. She absolutely loves water, will cross bridges, traffic safe, etc. I’ve had quite a few beginner riders on her and she has always done well but I would prefer to sell to at least an intermediate level rider. She can tend to be more forward but does not get carried away. She is very easy to handle under saddle. Very soft on the mouth and will walk, trot, canter, smoothly. She will side pass and pivot, but nothing perfect. Bullet also has a smooth back up and a nice stop. I personally started this horse under saddle myself and never had any issues from day one. She has always been very easy to train and eager to learn.
I have taught her a few tricks just for fun. She knows how to ‘smile` and also will shake her head ‘no` on cue. I also taught her to ‘sit` on haybales. She does know how to do this trick but it never seemed to be her favorite thing so she can be reluctant at times and its not perfect by any means. And lastly Bullet does rear on command. And for this reason I would like her to go to someone who has at least some experience with horses. I do not practice this trick very often so she does not do it perfectly but she does know it.
Like I said, I’ve owned this horse since she was a filly and she’s been amazing. She is super versatile and will most definitely excel in any direction you wish to take her. My only reason for selling is I am getting married and will not have the space for her anymore.

Lola is 10-11 year old grade mare that stands at 14 hands. She has a sweet personality and learns quickly. She stands wonderfully to be tied, groomed, and saddled. I could tie her for hours and she would stand quietly no problem. She also knows how to lunge, yield hindquarters, round pen, and back. Lola also loads and trailers well. She has been exposed to a lot so is fairly quiet and not much bothers her. She does need work on handling her feet though. With other horses she tends to be lower in the pecking order.

Lola is broke to ride. She’s a little rusty but walk, trots, canters well. She would make a great trail horse. I would recommend a intermediate rider atleast simply because she could use some work in a few areas and is a touch forward. She does have a great mind though and learns very quick. Super sweet horse, and is always the first to come say hi to me in the morning. She would make an easy project for someone looking to further their training skills.

Meet the new mare, Lola. She’s 10 years old with a sweet and spunky personality. I’ll be giving her a nice tuneup and then listing her for sale!

We’ve been doing groundwork and in two sessions she has already picked up great on round penning, lunging, yielding hindquarters, and backing. She’s also proving to be super patient and stands very nicely tied👍🏽

Rosie can be a little antsy at times, especially tying. So we’re doing a tuneup on groundwork to help with that. Just simple lunging, yielding hindquarters, and lots of backing. Really focusing on rewarding and releasing all pressure when she relaxes. Without even directly working on her tying problem, she’s already much calmer being tied. 👍🏽

Meet the new mare around here, Rosie. I actually started her under saddle around two years ago. Now she’s back to brush up on ground manners and some things under saddle as well. I’m excited to be working with her again!

Pretty much with most horses I work with I like to teach them the general idea of ground tying.

I don’t fully teach them the entire concept but I just like them to have an understanding of it in the round pen and around the barn. Makes things convenient for me and also keeps them thinking.👍🏽

Georgia picked it right up. Only took a few times and she knew right what I was asking of her.

We had a great workout with Georgia today! When starting out with horses I always begin with groundwork to get a feel for them. So we did a bit of round penning, backing, yielding hindquarters, lunging, and desensitizing.
She did well, so tomorrow we will start working under saddle.

Meet Georgia, the new client horse in the barn! She’s a gorgeous Dutch Harness/ Percheron cross. We will be furthering her training under saddle and putting some miles under her feet as she’s still pretty green. Also just working on some groundwork stuff as well. She seems to have a great mind and I’m liking her already!

We have a new one in the barn! A 7-8 year old quarter horse mare. We got her yesterday in hopes that she’ll be a good horse for my younger sister Madison. So far she loves her and has decided to call her Arrow. The plan is to give her a good tune up and we’ll go from there. I’m also loving how she’s an almost twin to my own mare, Bullet.

SOLD
This is Kid. He’s around 9-10 years old and stands at 11.2 hands. Generally he is a very laid back and well behaved little guy. Although he can tend to have a bit of energy at times, so I would recommend a intermediate level rider.

Kid is overall very well behaved. He stands to be saddled and is great with having his feet handled. You can tie him up and he will stand quietly all day. He’s also great around children. He knows how to round pen, lunge, yield hindquarters, etc on the ground. I’ve trailered him several times and he always does great. He has even taken part in a Christmas pageant!

We’ve owned him for about a year and a half and have always loved him! The only reason I’m selling is my sister has out grown him.

I’m happy to say we are starting to see much better progress with Noah. We’ve been working at lots of saddle prep and today was the first he was pretty relaxed about it. I was considering trying to completely saddle him but then decided to wait another day. Simply because I’ve learned with this one you’ve got to take very small steps. It’s very easy to push him a bit too much and that’s when he completely loses it and it puts you back to square one.

I did walk around holding the saddle for a while at the end and have him follow me. Having a horse follow something they are afraid of helps build their confidence.

02/09/2021

So Noah had always been very on edge since day one. While I did manage to get a saddle on him once, I haven’t been able to since.🙈 His first saddling went fairly normal but apparently something didn’t set right with him about it. So we are back to square one.

I usually have a lead rope on them when I’m doing this, but I figured maybe doing it this way will help his confidence a bit. He can tend to even be wary of me simply touching him so getting use to the saddle pad is a big deal. Lots of approach and retreat with it. And just getting him use to the idea of it being around him a lot. I also did this with the saddle.

It took about an hour to get him this comfortable so I decided to quit after he got fairly comfortable with it.

I was hoping to have a first ride by now, but sometimes you have to take a step back and give it some time. In the end, all our work should pay off🤞🏽😅

Another new client horse came in Saturday. Diamond is a 3 year old Morgan cross. He’s here to be started under saddle. Fun fact, he was here for groundwork training as a yearling. I’ve included a picture of him when he was here two years ago. He’s off to a great start and we even got him saddled the first day!👍🏽

This is Noah, a three year old Dutch Warmblood gelding. He is here to be started under saddle. He doesn’t know much but seems smart and willing to learn. Although it does appear getting a saddle on him will be a bit interesting since he is very reactive. I’m excited to watch his progress as he is here over the next few weeks.
