Handsome Roo searching for their forever home. 🐓

Saved as a small chick from running around a urban street, raised and loved until the chick identified as a rooster and still very well loved however because he was saved in an urban area... he is unfortunately in an urban area at his rescuers home and he really needs to find a forever RURAL home.

He is based in South Taranaki and needs to find his forever home sooner then later.

It's been a while since we've had any auctions or auction items but we've had some animal angels send us some goodies!

*Auction will run for 48 hours closing at 7:30pm on Wednesday the 19th of March 2025

*Please place your bid in the comments section of the item or items you'd like to bid on and the highest bidder of each auction pack at 7:30pm on Wednesday will win that item

* Each item has its reserve price attached to the photo as well as in the comments section.

* Payment to be made within 72 hours of winning auction.

*winners can collect from rural Inglewood (Taranaki) otherwise winners can pay for shipping of their winning item.

All money raised will go towards the ongoing costs of our current rehab hens.

We've got 2 groups of hens ready for their forever TARANAKI homes.

Group 1: 2 hens needing a forever home
Group 2: 2 hens needing a forever home.

We are looking for homes for these 2 groups of hens, we are searching for forever homes where these girls can remain in a small group by themselves or with another 1 or 2 hens to be integrated with.

We held them back from our last rescue as they needed a bit of extra TLC but are now ready to find their forever home.

We were as excited as our little helper when the skip bin arrived today.

Thank you to everyone who's donated towards us being able to get rid of our very well used broken cages, crates, pens.. the list goes on.

Pretty easy guess of what we got up today and will be doing tomorrow.

Massive thanks to MC Shearing & Rural Services for the permanents hair cuts today. 🐑🐑🐑

In this never ending drought this heat is getting to all of us but Smooch, Jordie & Bella feel it more with growing wool.

Marc & Kayley at Mc Shearing have supported our charity for a while now and we are super greatful for the care and time they commit to our 3 permanent sheepies.

A HUGE shout out to The Water Hog Ltd. The best water carrier you could ever ask for!

The Water Hog have gone above and beyond to ensure our animals have all the water they need to get through this drought not once but twice now! And we are forever greatful and so are all the animals.

Time is approaching pretty quickly where it's almost time to relocate, the lease we took on is coming to an end and we have been super greatful to have this property at a time of need when our last long term lease ended. We are working on securing another property BUT we need your HELP.

We have alot of transport crates and cages that have been repaired over and over, they've been used for spare parts on others to repair them. And unfortunately we have a large pile that no longer has a use including housing and pens that have been destroyed by wind or old age.

We have alot of animal items to clear that unfortunately only have the destination of rubbish as they aren't safe to continue using. ( We have recycled every possible part we can)

Our account is desperately low so we are asking if every follower could donate even $1 towards clearing all the used and abused animal items that are no longer usable.

Any extra raised money over the $320 we need for a big enough skip bin will go towards replacing some of the old items as well as towards the costs involved to relocate all the animals safely.

The cutest chickens I ever did see 🐔

A huge thank you to Zoeyco Creations for her hand made chickens for our volunteer team. These chickens represent the hens that have been saved and the hens that will be saved.

Meet 2 Sweet KuneKune Girls – Pumpkin & Sunshine

With heavy hearts, they are looking for a kind and loving forever home for two beautiful KuneKune girls. They are about 14 months old.

Pumpkin, the lovely brown piggie, and Sunshine, a charming black-and-white girl, are truly special. They adore exploring the paddocks alongside dogs and get along wonderfully with chickens, sheep, and, of course, their canine friends. Their gentle nature and affectionate personalities bring so much joy to everyone who meets them.

They love nothing more than tummy tickles—once you start, they’ll blissfully flop over and soak in all the love you can give. On hot days, they delight in a refreshing shower or a good mud bath. And if you call their names while shaking their nut bucket, they’ll come running to you with their sweet, eager faces.

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected family illness and the challenges of our property’s grass no longer growing well, we are unable to provide them with the care they truly deserve. This decision is incredibly difficult, but we know they will bring happiness and love to a new family who can give them the best life possible.

If you have the space, time, and heart to welcome these two wonderful souls into your home, please reach out. They are such special girls, and we want nothing more than to see them cherished and adored.

FLOSSY 💜

It's been a pretty busy week here not only have we been finding the best homes for colony caged hens to go into tomorrow but we've also been FINALLY doing some of the long to do list on Flossy.

We've had her paint in storage for the better part of almost 3 year now and we've finally done it. She's had 2 coats so far with a 3rd being likely.

You won't be able to miss us on the road with her stunning colours.

We still have alot of cosmetic stuff we would like to complete but it will happen in good time. For now Flossys loaded and ready to get colony caged hens into FREEDOM FOR FEBRUARY.

A little snippet of one of the many daily chores we do around here... multiple containers of sprouts for the animals all at different stages.
