GODIVA - Female approx 5 years old

Godiva came from an awful past, we got her and 3 others after their owner was found to be deceased. They had been left behind in a small camper. They were all very shy but they are slowly warming up. Miss Godiva you can tell wants to get love and be someone’s special kitty. She’s starting to be talkative too. Godiva will need some decompression time in a new home but we believe that with a bit of time she’ll be social and cuddly with her new owner.
Godiva tested positive for FIV. This is only spread to other cats via blood to blood contact - for example a deep bite wound. FIV+ cats can live long happy lives. They are just more susceptible to viruses so they should always be kept up to date on vaccines and should be indoor cats only.

"Her owner passed away in August. She is a shy, quiet cat. Needs an indoor home. Once she gets to know you, she will be very lovable, sit on your lap for hours, and enjoy being petted. She is missing the end of her tail. Her previous owner rescued her as a kitten from a feral cat colony, who spoiled her and provided her with a loving, quiet home until he passed away. She has been through alot as a kitten and in the past four months, yet she still seeks out human attention. She will be a wonderful companion for a quiet household.
She is good with other cats. She is spayed and feline leukemia negative. She has been dewormed and has had monthly flea treatments."

Letty got adopted today! 🎉🎉 But we forgot to take a picture!
We had Letty for 7 months! She came in with her newborn kitties that have long since been adopted while sweet Letty waited. Finally today her forever person found her! She will be a spoiled only cat just like she always wanted. ❤️🐾

❤️FISHER NEEDS SOME GOOD VIBES ❤️

Send some love to this sweet boy. Fisher came to us this past weekend with 4 other cats that were living in a camper. Their owner disappeared and sadly was later found deceased. They are coming from a very rough environment. All 5 have upper respiratory infections and various other issues. 3 tested positive for FIV as well.

We’ve got our work cut out for us getting these kids adoption ready! At least they are all safe and getting some TLC now.

“My name is Jaime; I lived in Athens from 2008-2011 and adopted a cat in summer 2009 who was being fostered at Lamborn's Studio on W. State Street by the name of Kallie. I've been meaning to write for awhile, ever since her 18th birthday this past summer; sadly, I happen to be managing it after she has just passed away yesterday after 15+ years together.

I've always had calico cats, so we can't have so many Callies 🙂 so she has been known to everyone as Cordelia. She was just the greatest cat -- as I'm sure everyone who encountered her at the humane society and at Lamborn's could tell. Since then, she went on to improve diplomatic relations between my first two cats (neither of whom especially liked each other but managed quite well with Cordelia), become BFFs with my mom's dog, and come with me to New York City, where she continued to charm everyone, whether riding down the sidewalk in her stroller to and from the vet, or appearing front and center in the camera frame during Zoom meetings.

About a year ago, Cordelia was diagnosed with kidney disease, which was quickly brought under control with kidney diet, fluids, etc. She was extremely stable over the summer and into the fall, maintaining her appetite and weight, then had a stroke in early November. She recovered almost to her previous baseline, and we had another good Christmas and New Year's together, although her kidney values had worsened a bit at her last blood test earlier this month. Yesterday, about a year after the onset of her kidney disease, she had another neurological event. The emergency vet stabilized her, and she died peacefully at home. I'm grateful for our whole 15+ years together, but this past year in particular, I have cherished every day.

Over the years, I sometimes found myself wondering how such a happy, well-adjusted cat had found herself in need of a new home. It seems to me that she must have had a good start somewhere, perhaps with someone who also had a dog (Cordelia spoke "dog" fluently, and she understood how to play with my mom's dog). I'm grateful to everyone who cared for her along her path. Thank you for bringing us together. She has been a light in my life. It's been an honor to care for her.”
