💙 $5 Friday is here! 💙

This week, we’re asking you to help us get the very best possible care for two sweethearts in our care.

Peanut Breadcrumb, a name given to her by her incredible young rescuer, came to us with a deformity of one of her eyes. Thankfully, Peanut can function just fine without it, but an enucleation procedure is recommended for her long-term health and comfort.

Olive came to us with a broken leg. Thankfully, the fracture is stable and appears to be healing, but she continues to drag that leg, raising concerns about possible nerve damage. Her foster has been providing her with excellent care, but dragging her leg has caused injuries to the soft tissue and creates a risk of infection.

Many of you know Moe's story. It is one of resilience, loss, love, and quiet kindness.

After losing his human companions and then his brother, Moe's incredible foster wrapped him in patience and compassion, helping him heal while preparing him for the life he deserved. Because of her dedication, he found not just a home, but a family who already adores him.

We couldn't be happier to see Moe begin his happily ever after. Wishing him a lifetime of love, comfort, and joy.

These three adorable kittens are ready to start looking for their forever families! Tiny (m), Albert (f) and Mini Max (f)

Before you meet them, please note that this is a courtesy post. These kittens are being cared for by a community member, not the Athens County Humane Society, but we're happy to help them find loving homes.

Their mom has already been spayed, and the kittens have now reached the age where they can begin receiving routine veterinary care. They will be dewormed soon, and their caregiver is working to ensure they receive the care they need as they continue to grow.

If you're looking to add a playful, loving kitten to your family, one of these little ones might be the perfect fit!

Pretty Gayle has some really unique markings and adorable little white feet. She loves to explore and check everything out in her space. Gayle seems pretty chill and is about 1 year old.

Most cats will adjust to any household with proper acclimation and introductions.

Apply to adopt Gayle at athenshumane.org/adopt and set up a meet and greet once you are approved. Cats are fully vetted and the adoption fee is $100 toward the care they have received. Beautiful Glen is an adventurous guy but also loves some cuddles. We discovered he is camera shy and may think it steals his soul. He’s got a great one so can’t blame him for being careful. Glen has done well with other cats and is about 1 year old.
