Happy Paws Happy Homes We are an all-volunteer, 501c3 (non-profit) organization dedicated to companion animals.

We offer a spay/neuter program for pet parents in the Blair County area. If you have a dog that needs a new home, we may be able to help by crossposting/networking for the dog.

We have VERY limited funds available for It's Not My Cat at this time. Once the funds are spent, we will be closing inquiries for this promotion. If you previously inquired about funds and your timeframe for taking advantage of the promotion has passed, you will need to re-inquire about fund availability.

To date our program has helped 116 local stray cats get spayed/neutered with the help of 36 individual caretakers!

Happy Paws Happy Homes' spay/neuter program has been helping dogs and cats in and around Huntingdon and Blair Counties (PA) get spayed/neutered for the last 15+ years.

Less money spent on spay/neuter means more money for other pet needs, a better quality of life for our pets and less pet homelessness and neglect in our area.

We offer:
- transport days for pets (between Huntingdon, Tyrone and the Allegheny Spay/Neuter Clinic in Woodland)
- money-saving vouchers useable at partnering clinics in Centre and Clearfield Counties
- the Fix-A-Bull Program (for qualified pit bulls)
- "It's Not My Cat" (for stray/feral cats)
- financial assistance for dogs

Visit our website www.happypawshappyhomes.org or send a PM to get started. Please share with a friend, relative, neighbor or coworker. Low-cost spay/neuter IS available and we must all do our part to make our communities better places for companion animals. We can help.

If you have been thinking about reducing the cat population on your property, there are still funds available for our "It's Not My Cat" promotion. They're not our cats, either, but 2 can become 20 very quickly. So if you are feeding them and providing shelter, do the right thing and get them spayed/neutered, too, to prevent needless suffering and overpopulation.

Anyone who can access the clinics that we partner with in Centre and Clearfield Counties can use this program.

There is mandatory ear tipping with this program.

Send us a PM and mention "It's Not My Cat" in your message.

Happy National Pit Bull Awareness Day (and Month!)

The dogs commonly known as "pit bulls" have been woven into the history of the United States since their introduction to the country in the early 1900s.

Due to their loyal and loving temperament, especially with children, they quickly gained popularity and became integral members of families all across the country.

It didn't take long for "pit bulls" to earn the nickname "America's Dog."

And because they were considered American icons, "pit bulls" were adopted as mascots for all branches of the military as they were seen as representing the unwavering spirit of America.

They still represent that unwavering spirit.

Today, bully-breed dogs have a variety of functions in society, including police K9 officers, search and rescue dogs, arson dogs, bomb and drug-sniffing dogs, and therapy dogs, just to name a few.

Perhaps their most important role today, however, is the quintessential family dog: loyal, affectionate, comedic, extremely intelligent, and intuitive, they are the very heart of millions of families in America.

In fact, U.S. News and World Report recently collected industry data from Rover and the American Pet Products Association, and found "pit bulls" to be the FOURTH most popular FAMILY DOG in the United States today, and they represent the true "spirit of America" like no other dog.

October is National Pit Bull Appreciation Month.

Share the bully love. 💜

Found between Tyrone and Philipsburg, PA two weeks ago. Anyone missing?

✳️ REPOSTING ✳️
“ For those who can help, I've recently adopted a new dog (Chief). It's been two weeks owning him, and he was found in the woods between Philipsburg and Tyrone off of Rt 453(probably abandoned). The finder claimed to have checked the sites and he's not chipped. I'm basically calling him mine at this point, but to be sure I'd like to try one more time to possibly find his real owner. I'm going to reach out to a few other pages and try to share this post, but anyone who could help share, I would appreciate it. If he were mine, and lost....I'd hope someone would do the same. My house phone with an answering machine is 814-740-9907.”
