We offer a spay/neuter program for pet parents in the Blair County area. If you have a dog that needs a new home, we may be able to help by crossposting/networking for the dog.

The Allegheny Spay/Neuter Clinic has done so much to improve the lives of companion animals in our area. We are proud to have partnered with them since the beginning. Please support their work so we can continue to serve more animals for years to come!

This month, our Spay/Neuter Program is celebrating its 15th birthday! After all of that time, we find that people still haven't heard about us or don't know exactly what our spay/neuter program does. Here's hoping we can get the word out! We'd love to be able to offer our program for 15 more years, but can only do so with the public's help.

Our spay/neuter program is for all cats and dogs. No income or geographic restrictions apply. Our main focus areas are Blair and Huntingdon Counties, but we have served pets throughout PA.

We have helped over 7,000 pets get spayed/neutered in the last 15 years through a combination of service offerings and financial assistance.

Our current spay/neuter options include:
a) transport days, on which transportation for pets is provided between Huntingdon, PA, Tyrone, PA and the Allegheny Spay and Neuter Clinic/Animal Welfare Council of the Alleghenies

b) for folks who can provide their own transportation, we sell vouchers useable at the Allegheny Spay and Neuter Clinic/Animal Welfare Council of the Alleghenies and All Pets Veterinary Wellness Clinic that save money off of what they normally charge for spay/neuter surgeries

c) the Fix-A-Bull Program for pit bulls (because far too many pit bull-type dogs are still contributing to the pet overpopulation crisis)

d) as funds allow, financial assistance for dogs

e) as funds allow, promotions for outside cats

We hope you'll spread the word to a friend, neighbor, relative or co-worker about our program. We've helped thousands of pets get spayed/neutered over the last 15 years.

Are your pets already spayed/neutered and you'd love to help others? Consider a tax-deductible donation of any amount to help rebuild our fund. You can use our Paypal Giving Fund link:

Donations can also be made to HPHH, P.O. Box 22, Tyrone, PA 16686.

We thank you in advance for supporting our cause and pets in our communities!

As the 'Season of Giving' approaches, please consider a tax-deductible donation to Happy Paws Happy Homes to help us keep our spay/neuter program up and running! We know that there are many worthwhile causes to donate to. Our program is vital to animal welfare in our area. Our spay/neuter program has helped over 7,000 local dogs and cats get spayed/neutered in the last 15 years, helping reduce pet overpopulation in our area and keeping costs as low as possible for area families who want to access these services for their pets. And we couldn't continue to offer services like transport days, vouchers and financial assistance programs without your help!

We greatly appreciate your consideration. Donations can be made through our Paypal Giving Fund link: paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/1473858
Donations can also be mailed to HPHH, PO Box 22, Tyrone, PA 16686.

All donations are used to continue offering our Fix-a-Bull Program, promotions for stray cats and financial assistance for dogs. Thank you in advance for your support!

Eight dogs and 18 cats were spayed/neutered this past week! Our almost-15-year-old partnership between the Allegheny Spay and Neuter Clinic/Animal Welfare Council of the Alleghenies, the Huntingdon County Humane Society LC #2157, local pet parents/caregivers and Happy Paws Happy Homes has resulted in over 7,000 local dogs and cats being spayed/neutered. This has improved our communities' overpopulation statistics and resulted in companion animals living longer, healthier lives.

Stay tuned - our 2025 dates will be posted on our website soon so YOU and your pets can be part of the spay/neuter solution!

It's imperative that we all reinforce the importance of spay/neuter each and every day. Together, the message needs to be sent that too many companion animals are born into a world of homelessness and neglect. There is not enough space in our shelters, in rescues and in homes for them all. If you find a stray animal and need somewhere to take it, chances are you're not going to find somewhere to bring it to readily. If you need to rehome a pet, chances are you are going to need to put your name on a waiting list with an agency in the hopes that a spot will open up soon. This is the reality in animal welfare right now. Most animals that come into shelters and rescues are not spayed/neutered, so then organizations are financially burdened with their care.

We can all help by spreading the word about the importance of spay/neuter. We should sound like a broken record to those whose pets aren't spayed/neutered. There are resources in our area, including our spay/neuter program, that can help to get this essential service done for reduced-cost. All it takes is one private message, email or phone call to get details. No income restrictions and no applications. Be part of the solution.

We do not make daily posts on Facebook because we are an all-volunteer organization. All of us volunteers have jobs doing other things, but our passion for pets guides us to help them in our 'free time.' Some of the things we are busy doing between work and family obligations on a daily basis are:
- planning & scheduling spay/neuter transport days
- matching people with spay/neuter resources for their pets
- returning correspondence about spay/neuter, dogs needing rehoming, etc.
- sending out spay/neuter vouchers
- processing financial assistance applications

If you know someone who could benefit from our spay/neuter program, please pass the word about it. We've been helping dogs and cats in our area since 2009 and offer various options. These are all listed on our website, www.happypawshappyhomes.org

As National Pit Bull Awareness Month comes to a close this week, we wanted to share some exciting news. Since its inception in 2009, our Fix-A-Bull Program has helped over 800 local pit bulls get spayed/neutered. 800!

Happy Paws Happy Homes offers this program out of a love for the pit bull breeds and knowing that a large portion of shelter dogs are pit bull breeds. Pit bull parents pay a minimal fee to have their dogs altered through this program and Happy Paws Happy Homes picks up the rest of the surgery bill.

We are confident that our program is preventing many thousands of pit bulls from being born into a life of homelessness or neglect in our area and is helping many others live longer, healthier lives through spay/neuter.

Thank you for your support of Fix-a-Bull by sharing!

October is Pit Bull Awareness Month, a month dedicated to dispelling myths and fostering understanding of pit bull breeds. Pit bulls have gotten an undeserved bad rap.
Our shelters are filled with great pit bull-type dogs. Learn about them. Get to know them. You may just have met your next family member.

Six dogs and 18 cats were spayed and neutered this past week on our transport day! Thanks to our almost-15 year partnership with the Allegheny Spay and Neuter Clinic/Animal Welfare Council of the Alleghenies, the Huntingdon County Humane Society LC #2157 and local pet parents, we're ensuring that as many pets as possible are not contributing to pet overpopulation in our area.

UPDATE: SPOT FILLED!
Please share so we can fill this spot!
We have an opening this Thursday for a small female dog (less than 30 lbs) to be spayed! This opening has come about due to a different dog coming into heat and having to postpone her appointment.
Thursday's appointments are for pets who NEED the transportation provided between Huntingdon, Tyrone and the Allegheny Spay/Neuter Clinic in Woodland. $135 covers spaying on this date and a $15 deposit must be paid on our website in the next couple of days to hold the spot.
If you are interested in this appointment, you must send us a PM. We expect a large response and will work to respond to each inquiry in the order that they are received as quickly as possible. If you have a different gender/type of pet and/or don't need transportation, ask us about vouchers (a separate option we offer as part of our spay/neuter program).
