Cats In Distress Christmas Fair is being held on Saturday 9th November. Our wonderful supporter Maureen has been busy making her beautiful items including glasses cases, tote bags, advent calendar, bunting and cat nip toys that have had the royal approval from our CID cats. These and many more handmade products will be available to purchase on the day.Why not buy your loved ones something truly special this Christmas and know that you are also helping to support cats and kittens in need.
These two kittens were handed into Harris Hill and Gibbons vets on Friday, after being found in a compost bin at or near Rivermead School in Melksham. I'm afraid we don't have any further information regarding any other kittens or mum cat.
Feeding queens will very often move their litter to a fresh site a few weeks after giving birth. Sometimes they need to make several journeys leaving kittens alone for a while. We would advise anyone finding young vulnerable kittens to monitor the situation before moving or removing them.
Sadly, its not an exact science, obviously common sense should prevail. If they are out in the open, getting cold or wet or likely to be seen by predators don't hesitate to get them to safety. But by keeping a watchful eye from a distance we can give mum a chance to come back and then also attempt to bring her and any other kittens into safety.
Cats In Distress-
‘Since we opened our doors in May 2016, our team of volunteers has worked tirelessly to save lives and promote animal welfare.
We’ve helped well over 2,000 cats, and now help more than 350 cats a year.
Rehoming domestic cats is just a small part of what we do. As well as working with members of the public to help strays and abandoned cats, we are proud to work alongside other welfare organisations, such as Search & Scan, Cats Protection and the RSPCA.’
The International day of charity is a day to raise awareness of the importance of supporting charities , engaging in acts of kindness and giving. Ask to society. This day is all about encouraging people to help make the world a better place.

Love your cats? Get them microchipped. More proof if its needed that microchipping your pet actually works.
Some of you might have read the recent story from Search and Scan - SAS about Nibbler. This boy had managed to travel from Southampton but with the help of diligent members of the public, and up to date microchip details the team were able to deliver him to us for safekeeping, until his owners were able to collect him.
Another happy cat and owners reunited. #microchip #microchipyourpets #loveyourcat
See you all at our Spring Fair TODAY! 😻
Does anyone recognise this cat. Appeared at the Loxton lorry yard at Buckland Dinham about a week ago.
World Spay Day 🐈⬛
Today is World Spay Day, which is a day dedicated to promoting the neutering and spaying of pets.
There are many reasons for responsible owners to spay their beloved pet, here are a few…
1- Prevents your pet getting nasty diseases and conditions.
2-Protects your female pets from unintentional pregnancies and any associated risks.
3-Reduce male cats from straying and being injured. Also stops male cats spraying in your home.
4-Reduce the amount of pets that end up at rescues needing help.

Christmas Appeal
🌟 Christmas Appeal 🌟
We know people like to give at Christmas, and we really don't want to offend anyone, but the best present you could give us this year, is money.
We are very proud of our facilities.
But our wooden pens are looking a little sad, they are draughty and not as warm as the new block built in lockdown.
So over the festive period, we are planning to close these pens and renovate them.Providing double glazing, a new roof, new heated bedrooms and flooring.
All money donated during December will go towards upgrading this block.
