Happy 1st day of Winter!

**UPDATE** ADOPTED :)

This adorable scruffy girl is looking for her forever home starting tomorrow (Thurs). We have named her Fraggle. We are hopeful that Fraggle will find a home before Christmas. She is a 2ish year old scruffy mutt. Our best breed guess is schnauzer/poodle, but we really don't know. She weighs 30 pounds. She is a really nice size...not too big or too small. This girl was found as a stray and wasn't claimed. She is a pleasant little one to be around. We haven't had her too long, so we are unsure how she would be with other dogs, cats or kids. We always recommend a meet and greet with the whole family prior to adoption. She seems like she had been a house dog. She keeps her inside kennel clean. Fraggle has been fully vetted and is ready for her new life. Give the pound a call tomorrow if you would like to meet Fraggle. 330-339-2616. Her adoption fee is $145 and includes a license.

❤️❤️❤️ Esme has been adopted!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Esme was purchased as a puppy and lived with her family for six years. She was happy and living the best life. In October, her family went to Mexico for vacation and never returned for her. They sent a text stating they didn’t want her. Esme is heartbroken and in need of someone to heal her heart. She was not socialized with other animals so she will need to be the only pet. We feel she is deserving of all the love. If interested in meeting Esme, please message us, as she is in foster.

Much of my time is spent just sitting here, holding the dogs.
Especially the ones that are a little more broken.

Ranger carries so much trauma with him it’s taking me a lot longer to get through those barriers than usual.
He loved his human and he misses them.

This is what happens when you drive your dog out to the country and just leave it behind.
They don’t easily move on with their lives like you have.
They don’t forget all about you like you have them.

They’re sitting in rescues all over just like ours unable to open up to humans just praying you will walk through the door to take them back home.

If you take nothing else from this picture at least take this…if you are going to get a dog, please make sure you are in it for life. They aren’t toys, they aren’t disposable, they aren’t without a soul like most humans.
Do your research on the breed you choose. Do your research on the cost of owning a dog. Do your research on your living situation and weather or not you are allowed a dog, weather or not you have a large enough space for the breed you’re interested in, weather or not you can provide proper time, attention, and training to help set your dog up for success and happiness.

They don’t just disappear when you dump them, out of sight out of mind, they’re here, they’re struggling, and because people are not taking responsibility for their actions rescues and shelters all over are drowning in cast away pets.
