The updated reference sires for this year's sale, January 13, 2024 have been updated online. Our website now has all of the information pertaining to the spectacular bred heifers that will be selling that day as well. We have had the amazing opportunity to have two neighbors put their bred heifers in our annual sale. These heifers are influenced with RTA genetics either from the cow lines they are developed from or by the calves they are carrying. We had the opportunity to watch these heifers grow from calves, to thick, deep, broody straight up momma cow look'n heifers. They have shape and look that will make you stop, back up, and take another look. If you are in the market for bred heifers these ladies have been developed to go earn a living in any program they find their forever homes. We firmly believe that at this particular point in our industry there has not ever been a better time to get some value added young stock in the program. We look forward to seeing you January 13th, 2024 at the sale!! We appreciate all the continued support of our program!!

COWBIRDS
Interesting note: This time of year it is common to see cows' backs covered in bird droppings or see cows lying in the pasture with birds on their backs. These birds are called cowbirds because of their close association with bison and cattle. They benefit from the insects that are flushed up by the moving cattle. Not only do they use ruminants to survive, but they lay their eggs in another bird's nest and utilize that bird to hatch their eggs.

Teratoma- complex tumor producing hair and/or teeth. When this tennis ball sized mass was lanced, I was expecting an abscess. Instead it was full of hair produced by the tumor. A 1/30000 head find!
