So much love to everyone who stopped by at ALA! It was an amazing con that just made my heart happy. (And my bank account, but we'll get to that.)
I know ALA counts as a big con these days, but somehow it had all the vibes of its years back in a hotel where we all just got to know each other. Two of y'all dropped by my table with the express reason of giving me yummy international candy. Eight (!!!) people dropped by to tell me that they bought scarves from me around 10 years ago. Some of those scarves are still in use. Some are happy memories now. But yeah, just so many community vibes and the feeling that we all kinda grew up together or something.
Now, in my defense, in the week leading up to the con, I was sleeping until 1 in the afternoon due to late night crafting binges. So I started sleep deprived on day 1, and it only got worse. So how was Thursday? It was very Day 1. No I will not elaborate, but if you do a lot of cons, you just know. Saturday was extremely Saturday. Saturday night, I did a quick count on my sales and realized that I had just matched my sales for the entire con last year. So I was pretty hype for Sunday. I juuuuuuust missed setting a new personal record for the con, but it was a really high bar. So thank you to everyone who bought anything from a single surprise egg to a long minky scarf. I couldn't have hit those numbers without each and every one of you.
So what sold well?
Y'all kind of grazed the soaps evenly, to the point where I had an amazing good selection left at closing, but my overstock bin was nearly empty. There was a standout runaway bestseller, and that was Gamer's Choice.
On the scarves, y'all had some kind of 6th sense for whatever I had just finished, y'know, finishing. No one called dibs while I was sewing, but it was usually the next thing to go after I got it into the display. Black and gray kitty scarves sold best, but I also was sitting there working on those the most.
And for the rest of it, only one set of butterfly ear cuffs found a new home, and patches didn't have anything stand out as best, but they sold steadily.
So, again, thank you for the amazing start to 2024!!

I WILL HAVE RIBBONS THIS YEAR!! Much thanks to the friend who kicked my butt about deadlines and also made this infographic for me.
Anyway, back to panic crafting.

Gateway Con (Strategicon September edition) is just around the corner! All those July events wiped out my inventory, so if there's something you're hoping to buy from me there, please drop me a note! There is a really high chance I won't get everything on my to-do list made, so tell me what I need to prioritize!

Home safely now from AX Day 4, after an important detour. Thank you ever so much to everyone who bought from me or just stopped to say hi. I had a nearly perfect year. Great neighbor-artists, lovely interactions with staff, seeing lots of you!

Safely home from Day 1 of Anime Expo. I don't have a cool picture or merch, but I am out of my petticoat now. So I win. Anyway, I think I did in sales today what I normally do in the entirety of one of the wee gaming cons and sci fi cons that have been my regular recently. Like, wow, I forgot how to big con.
Also! Some of y'all may have noticed that I had no black kitties or rainbow-y axolotls today. That would be because I was planning to finish them while sitting at my table before opening. Except I left the heads at home. So those are in my bag now and ready to go to con tomorrow.

I know it's a bit late in the process, but any requests? I've got a soap supply order coming on Thursday, so there WILL be last minute crafting. And there will also be last minute cuts to the to-do list. So if you know want something, let's make sure I keep it on the list!

I found this in my stash. I can get three short scarves out of it, but don't know what critters yet. Bunnies? Bears? Axolotls? Opinions welcome!
And don't be surprised if I ask this question about some more prints soon. I'm tired of saving 'em all until I get the "perfect" idea!

Gamex is less than two weeks away! I've already gotten one customer request for the con, and I definitely have time to squeeze in more!
BTW, I'm nearly positive I found the box with all the axotolt scarf parts and pattern pieces that I've been lookiing for for the last year. If I'm right, there will be Axys!!!

So I did the inventory thing. The etsy shop is open and fairly accurate. These are the scarves that I don't have "etsy worthy" photos of. Though I'm thinking I might manage something with that background? First pic is long scarves. Second pic is short scarves. The pink is much darker in person, but color is otherwise good.
Anyway, praise me. I hate inventory day, but I did it anyway.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my table at Orccon! And a special 💙 to anyone who swung by from Gally. I'm poking at my etsy shop to get it back up for anyone who realized they still need to get a thing.
My next scheduled show is Gamex in May. I'm kinda looking for something to fill in the gap, but also looking forward to working on some personal craft projects for a lil bit. My UFO pile is getting pretty bad. I will probably post about that more on my Insta than here.

My favorite thing about mailing orders is knowing that someone is going to be really excited about checking their mail in a few days.
My second favorite thing is the shortest route home after going to the post office takes me past three different boba shops. 🧋

LosCon was AMAZING today! Thank you again to everyone who stopped by to say hello. I'm already registered to sell there again next year. And the GoH next year is Peter Beagle, the author of "The Last Unicorn" and many other lovely stories. So put that on your calendars. :)
My carpool and I are all home and unloaded. Not unpacked yet. I'm trying to find the energy to get my etsy shop up and running again.

Just for the record, I won't be offering any Black Friday sales online, because I will be at LosCon in person with all my goodies there. I will be trying to get the shop open again for Cyber Monday, just to be open. But we'll also need to see what I have left from my show!
And if there's something you know you want to get from me at LosCon, tell me now! I can probably squeeze one or two more things into the to do list!

Opinions needed! I'm planning to run three more of these for LosCon, but I don't know what color combo I like best! Or if there's some incredibly obvious combo that I just didn't think of!
Also, hell is actually just trimming jump threads for forever.

I finally got the hang of my embroidery machine, so it's time for a new product line!
Also, LosCon is in like 10 days, so now is the time to get your scarf and soap requests in! There's a high chance that I'll actually stay for evening events instead of running home to get more stuff made during con.

Whoops, I got quiet there for a while, didn't I?
I was hoping to say that I'd gotten into some more shows, but no luck. I've got LosCon on Thanksgiving weekend, and then ALA right after new years. I'll do my best to step up my etsy shop since there won't be a lot of chances to shop with me for the holidays. No promises about listing more than the scarves and soap, but we'll find a way to make things work!
