HEART(land) Positive Dog Training Alliance HEART is an alliance of dog trainers, pet professionals, and dog enthusiasts committed to force-free, positive training and handling.

Mission Statement:
HEART is a group of like minded individuals comprised of dog trainers, pet professionals and dog enthusiasts aligning to create an awareness of the importance and benefits of positive reinforcement dog training. HEART’s goals are:
*Educate pet professionals and the general public about positive training
methods and why they are the best option.
*Provide continuing education to

its members.
*Provide networking and support within the alliance.
*Be a referral source for veterinarians, groomers and other canine professionals.
*Be a presence in the Kansas City pet community. HEART is a member only organization. There are 2 levels of members – Professional and Supporting. Professional level requirements:
*Be currently working as 1) a positive reinforcement (+R) dog trainer either part
time or full time – either for profit or not, or 2) be apprenticing with a +R dog
trainer with the intent of becoming a +R dog trainer or 3) have previously worked
as a +R dog trainer.
*Commit to continually learning and practicing to improve your knowledge and
skills.
*Attend one meeting, submit an application along with $25 membership dues and be voted into the alliance.
*Membership dues of $25 annually. Supporting level requirements:
*Open to anyone who has an interest in +R dog training and dog enthusiasts.
*Attend one meeting, submit an application along with $15 membership dues and be voted into the alliance.
*Membership dues $15 annually (veterinarians are exempt from annual dues).
