Karen was released from cedar’s last evening and transferred to a close by physical therapy/ rehabilitation facility. Hopefully another week then maybe home. She is able to get up and walk about with her walker. Sounded really positive when she called me this morning. She needed more of her tea bags 🤦‍♀️ Anyway again Thank you all so much for the gifts, the support, and the love! It means everything!! ❤️🥰❤️🥰

Karen is definitely doing better. Hopefully moving to a skilled nursing facility near home in the next few days. Sitting up in a chair for a couple hours a day. Slow and steady this time around.

Sorry for no updates for a few days, but didn’t really have anything to report. Now she’s started to turn a corner. She was able to sit up in bed by herself. Not able to get out of bed yet, but hopefully in the next few days. PT is starting to work with her. I have no idea how much longer she’ll be at cedars. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ hopefully they’ll keep her till they’re sure. 🙏🙏

Back at Cedars so her surgeon can check everything and make sure it’s all good. Hopefully day or so there then back out here to rehab nursing home for a bit. 🤞🤞🙏🙏

Bit of a setback today. They took her to our nearby hospital as the pain got out of control today. Hopefully will go from there to a rehab nursing facility for a few days. Thanks for all the love and prayers. Special shout out to Jami Acker, Jeff Katz, and Melissa Allen for the gift cards for food! They are definitely going to be a big help. I’ll keep everyone posted. Hopefully just a minor setback and she’ll be motoring around the house with her walker again soon. Thanks ❤️

And she’s home! Doing great! Motoring around with her walker. Huge shout out to Jami Krasnow Acker for the DoorDash gift card!! May just save us all. 🙊🙉🙈

So Karen got the feeding tube out last night. Now we know she’s doing better since she is complaining about the food lol. 😂 able to walk around the floor with her walker. Also sitting up in a chair. 🙏🙏@

Just spent some time with Karen at the hospital. Doing better each day. Able to walk a few steps, getting checked now for ability to swallow food. Still some steps before she’s discharged but on the right track.

Just spoke with Fred. Karen is doing way better today. Pain is under control. She’s totally lucid. Not up to visitors or calls yet. But we’re getting closer. No idea on release date yet. Still things they need to do. I’m going to really enjoy reading her all your messages from Facebook. Thanks for all the love and support.

Morning update time: Karen continues to improve. Fred is heading in to see her, and will give more info. Pain dr. was in this morning to adjust her meds. Trying to give her enough pain relief without knocking her out so much. I’ll keep the updates coming, and will let everyone know when calls or visits are appropriate. Much thanks to all. ❤️

Karen is out of icu and in a regular room. Everything is going in the right direction, but she is definitely not up to calls or visitors. Thanks

Morning update. Karen has been extubated. They are keeping her in icu for pain management. Fred is on his way in to be with. He’ll update us later. Thanks for all the support and love ❤️

Hi all, Nothing new. They’ve decided to keep her intubated for one more night. They want to be sure she’s getting enough oxygen. Should be extubated tomorrow, and eased off the sedation. Will let everyone know when we know more. Meanwhile we are going to catch up on some sleep. I’m off to iel by 6 tomorrow morning but I’m sure Fred will try to sleep in some. Please let him sleep. We will update everyone as we get information. Thanks ❤️❤️

Latest update: not much new. Still intubated in the icu. Trying to keep her comfortable and control the pain. Hopefully getting the tube out this afternoon. Will update again later today.

Karen is out of surgery and the procedure went really well. Headed to icu to protect her airway for tonight. Now comes the hard part, keeping her from doing too much. 4-6 weeks of staying out of dirt. And for taking it easy. I know , good luck with that right. I told Fred we may need to drug her. Anyway thanks for all the prayers. I’ll update tomorrow.

Hi everyone , Tomorrow Karen is going in for a big surgery on her neck. The drs are saying 8 hours. It’s a pretty scary thing, and I know she could use some love and support, but she will kill me for posting this. Please post on her page, email, text, whatever works. Thanks 🙏🙏❤️

Desert International Horse Park people, we need your help! Around 3:30-4:00 this afternoon, Desdemona slipped her collar and was last seen running towards the lunging ring. She doesn’t have a collar on but she is microchipped! Please share and help us find her!!
