UPDATE: CHARITY was euthanized by OC Animal Care 12/13/2024 💔

CHARITY is on the EUTH LIST at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA SHELTER. She needs a RESCUE COMMITMENT by 5:00pm on 12/12/2024 or she WILL BE EUTHANIZED.

CHARITY is a 10 year old, 44 lb., English Bulldog/Staffordshire Terrier mix that came into the Orange County shelter on 11/27/2024 as an owned stray from the City of Tustin.

CHARITY was out running loose in the neighborhood with a Rottweiler when they encountered two other dogs. The 4 dogs got into a scuffle and the owner of the other dogs was bitten by the Rottweiler when they were trying to break up the fight. CHARITY was subsequently surrendered to the shelter.

At the shelter, CHARITY has been friendly with staff. She did well during her intake exam and vaccinations, and has been easy to take in/out of her kennel.

There is currently an open investigation to determine if CHARITY should be declared potentially dangerous/potentially vicious because of her participation in the attack on the two dogs.

Is CHARITY guilty by association? Should she lose her life because of this incident? Please watch her videos and decide for yourself.

UPDATE: REGGIE was euthanized by OC Animal Care 11/27/2024 💔

REGGIE is on the EUTH LIST at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA SHELTER. He needs a RESCUE COMMITMENT by 5:00pm on 11/25/2024 or he WILL BE EUTHANIZED.

Those ears, though. Check out those ears..!!!

REGGIE is a 3 year old, neutered PitBull that came into the Orange County shelter on 10/15/2024 as a stray from the City of San Juan Capistrano.

REGGIE was initially a bit skeptical of people when he was impounded but after a few days, he loosened up and was taken out of his kennel by a staff member. He was taken for a walk and to the play yard, and did well. He took treats gently, solicited attention and allowed touching/petting all over. He was neutered and placed up for adoption.

Just a few days ago, staff took him out to get some better pictures and videos to use to help promote him for adoption. Unfortunately, he became overstimulated and quickly chewed through a leash and then reportedly began lunging towards staff. A catch pole was used to walk him to a kennel and he was placed on the euthanasia list.

UPDATE: MOZART was euthanized by OC Animal Care 11/27/2024 💔

MOZART is on the EUTH LIST at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA SHELTER. He needs an ADOPTER or RESCUE COMMITMENT by 5:00pm on 11/26/2024 or he WILL BE EUTHANIZED.

MOZART is a 7 year old, neutered German Shepherd/Norwegian Elkhound mix that came into the Orange County shelter as a stray after he was found on 10/21/2024 wandering down the street with his leash still attached in the City of Orange.

MOZART has been a friendly dog with people and other dogs since he arrived at the shelter. He knows how to sit as can be seen in the videos below.

MOZART has a large, firm, relatively mobile, subcutaneous perianal mass. Surgical removal of the mass is quite risky since it seems to be intramuscular.

Please see Mozart's below medical history for further information/details. If your organization can help this handsome boy, please let us know! Mozart is also up for public adoption.

More updated information: MOZART has a large firm mass growing near his a**s. It is deep under layers of muscles and is painful to the touch. It has been growing progressively since he arrived at the shelter. The mass was initially about 6cm in size and is now about 10cm. Although MOZART is able to defecate on his own, the mass is now starting to open. The main concern with this mass is that it’s likely a malignant tumor and it appears it could be affecting his ability to control his bowel movements. Given the nature of this mass, it is not surgically resectable without more advanced diagnostics and seeing a specialist.

MOZART is currently available to rescue groups and for public adoption to someone who has resources and is willing to provide him the medical care that he needs.

UPDATE: RIPLEY was RESCUED by It's The Pits Dog Rescue 11/29/2024 ❤

RIPLEY is on the EUTH LIST for DERMATITIS at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA SHELTER. She needs a RESCUE COMMITMENT or ADOPTER by 5:00pm on 11/24/2024 or she WILL BE EUTHANIZED.

RIPLEY is a 6 year old, spayed, PitBull that came into the Orange County shelter on 02/27/2024 as a stray from the City of Lake Forest.

RIPLEY did well for her intake exam and has been friendly, sweet and good motivated. She has done well with staff and volunteers, and is good with other dogs.

RIPLEY arrived at the shelter with severe dermatitis. She was started on treated right away. She has been given repeated rounds of antibiotics with no response. A round of steroids was initiated to try to combat the dermatitis in September, with no response. Ripley's long acting allergy injections were repeated in March , April, and August. She showed some slight improve but her dermatitis would never completely go away. RIPLEY has trialed antibiotics for many weeks at a time. Every time, her skin is minimally responsive but will immediately flare up when not being treated. It appears she has a severe allergic dermatitis. The shelter says they are unable to do an appropriate food trial to rule out food allergies with a hypoallergenic diet as they don't have the resources or confirm the reliability of her not getting into other foods. RIPLEY would benefit from a dermatologist and additional diagnostics such as blood work and skin testing to check for any underlying illness which may be causing the dermatitis.

RIPLEY is currently available to rescue groups. She is also available public adoption if someone has the resources and is willing to continue her lifelong care.

ORANGE COUNTY TUSTIN CALIFORNIA

UPDATE: RESCUED by My Best Friend Rescue 09/18/2024 ❤

CHOWDER is on the EUTH LIST at the ORANGE COUNTY, CA SHELTER. She needs a RESCUE COMMITMENT by 5:00pm on 09/16/2024 or she WILL BE EUTHANIZED.

CHOWDER is a 2 year old, spayed, PitBull that came into the Orange County shelter on 09/04/2023 when she was found wandering around near 1st St. and Tustin Ave. The finder had no issues catching her and taking her home. The finder kept her for a few days while looking for her owner and noted no negative behavioral issues. The finder said CHOWDER did well with the children in the home.

CHOWDER was a bit nervous during intake and bit the scanner and was screeching when she was being scanned.

Staff hasn't had any issues taking her out of her kennel and walking her around the shelter or taking her to the play yard, but her behavior towards other dogs is concerning. CHOWDER has been lunging, snarling, snapping and charging towards other dogs when she sees them.

CHOWDER needs a rescue that has a foster with no other dogs, or a way to keep her safely separated from other dogs in the home.
