Our registration number is 80997 5394 RR0001. Situated on 10 beautiful acres, nestled in the woods right in the middle of cottage country, we are approximately 15 minutes outside of Bracebridge, Ontario. We are committed to finding loving, forever homes for dogs of all sizes, breeds and ages. Carter was an amazing dog, who happened to be a Pit Bull, and who was brought to us for boarding. With the
personal situation Carter’s owner was going through, he just never returned to take him back. Carter lived his life out with us here. Carter’s situation started us on a new venture and passion. Making sure all surrendered dogs, regardless of breed, are in safe, loving and caring homes. Dogs that are hard to place due to breed or age will always have a retirement home with us to allow them to live out their lives happy, properly treated and cared for. We are a non-profit organization which relies solely on public donations and volunteers. We will NOT adopt into a home with unaltered pets (dogs/cats). We require an adoption application filled out and then an appointment made to see our dogs. "Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog the world will forever change."

UPDATE! CLYDE IS HOME!!! Thank you for those who shared and kept an eye out for him. He is now home safe.
🐾 Missing Dog Alert: Clyde 🐾
Clyde, a beloved dog, went missing last night at 7:30 PM near Haven Rd off Hwy 118 in Bracebridge. Clyde requires medication, so it's crucial that he is found and returned home as soon as possible.
If you have seen Clyde or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact Chris immediately at 705-644-3447.
Let’s come together as a community and help bring Clyde home safely! 🐶💔

I've tried a million times to write this- but my tears fill up my eyes and I can't find the words. So here it is
Oakleys adoptive home took him to our boarding kennel and left him, they are not returning for him. Why? Personal life issues and he peed in the basement, they refused to hire a dog walker, nor block off areas with 6ft gate, refused a trainer we offered and despite me saying he must stay on limited ingredient salmon, they gave him pedigree. Am I mad...no...disappointed yes.
He has a bad ear infection and although he loves the ladies at the kennel (Countryside in Thorndale)this is not a home for him
Oakley needs a home he can hang out in the yard, the people are home or goes for an outing at lunch, can feed limited ingredient salmon. He can be selective on men, loves the ladies, proper introduction needed ( he barks nothing serious just likes to make a statement)
For now we will get him feeing great and ears cleared up.

Louie- Today, thanks to Deb(volunteer) and her family Lou had an amazing afternoon. He was running in a field, playing ball. Lou helped to get the linens from the bin and met a special lady at the Hive. He helped to take some donated dog food over to the manna food bank. The best part I think for Lou was the, not only 1 pup cup but 2.
Lou is a neglect case we are dealing with. He is one of the kindest, most gentle dogs.
Today was such a wonderful positive day for Louie, let’s please make the comments the same ❤️

FOUND- Male brown smaller poodle. Found on Fraserburg Rd, Bracebridge. Photo of where found- just bout hit by car. Is safe. No Chip. No collar. Proof in ownership required.

We are in need of some help. We could really use -
Greek yogurt- used for some neglect cases for weight gain - high in protein
Eggs - needed for same reason
I’m dealing with some special cases, our vet bills are escalating. Getting to the vet yesterday, the bills were 5000 (one day only) One is requiring surgery tomorrow and the other is in such poor condition we need to rebuild before any surgery can happen.

Alfie- we bought him a rear leg walking harness. It’s called a Balto harness. Every time we watch this little guy we are just amazed. Things he shouldn’t be doing, he does. He has such determination. Barb and Wilda (so grateful for these ladies) just dropped him off. When he saw myself he stood right up on all 4 legs looking at me. Just amazed.
This also would not be happening if not for Billie and Randy at hydrotherapy. The benefits are just in no other way of describing Wow.

Alfie- Tuesday is his favorite day. With the difference we have seen in Alfie and Wilber, hydrotherapy is definitely making an amazing difference in the muscle on both. If you have a dog with any form of arthritis or muscle deterioration, please check out this facility

Today Andie and Cass came out to the rescue to pick up Alfie and June for a little afternoon romp. They played at the park. Did a little stop at Tuffys pet store in town, and then on to Canadian tire. There last stop, of course was Starbucks for a little yum yum.
They were exhausted when they got back to the rescue. What a wonderful day for these 2 pups. Thank you so much to Andie and Cass❤️

Today Alfie did really good during his session. Mr Alfie is definitely a character. Barb and Wilda stop to pick up linens in Orillia before coming back to the rescue and Alfie is the centre of attention at Valu village. ❤️ Today he had a vet appointment after his session. Getting the little man looked at by Dr Peter at Twin Lakes. Sounds like when the Dr was cleaning the Mr’s ears he was a bit of a drama queen. Lol.
