Carter's Forever Rescue & Sanctuary Carter's is a non-profit animal rescue dedicated to finding safe, loving homes for all dogs regardles Carter's Rescue is a registered Canadian Charity.

Our registration number is 80997 5394 RR0001. Situated on 10 beautiful acres, nestled in the woods right in the middle of cottage country, we are approximately 15 minutes outside of Bracebridge, Ontario. We are committed to finding loving, forever homes for dogs of all sizes, breeds and ages. Carter was an amazing dog, who happened to be a Pit Bull, and who was brought to us for boarding. With the

personal situation Carter’s owner was going through, he just never returned to take him back. Carter lived his life out with us here. Carter’s situation started us on a new venture and passion. Making sure all surrendered dogs, regardless of breed, are in safe, loving and caring homes. Dogs that are hard to place due to breed or age will always have a retirement home with us to allow them to live out their lives happy, properly treated and cared for. We are a non-profit organization which relies solely on public donations and volunteers. We will NOT adopt into a home with unaltered pets (dogs/cats). We require an adoption application filled out and then an appointment made to see our dogs. "Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog the world will forever change."

Millie- Millie will be ready in a few weeks to head off to her home. Today she underwent a major dental and extractions. Millie is a pembroke corgi She is about 3-4yrs. Has some hip dysphasia but doing great. She lost some weight to help this issue Loves playing with other dogs. Kids not an issue. Hi Brenda, here’s a picture of F***y after her 2nd grooming appointment on December 4th -she looks so tiny!

We are going to go a little longer between grooms during the winter as the extra hair
helps keep her warm along with her winter coats.

I forgot to tell you that she hasn’t gone near the crate since we have stopped putting her in it at night.

What a wonderful little dog she is! Thank you Brenda🫂.

Chase- Today we will be saying goodbye to Chase. He has been an unusual fellow but such a joy. Efforts to find Chase a home were unsuccessful, due to him. Chase was always amazing with us, loving to play ball. He was happy and content. Chase came in 11-12 yrs ago. Was barely a year when he arrived Saying goodbye to Chase has just been because of aging and his body Today will be so difficult. We have been so lucky to have this gentle giant in our lives and Chase has definitely left a mark on every heart here. On the Wings of Angels Chase❤️

This was Alfie on Monday. He blew a wheel on his cart. We put him in the gazebo, only to listen to him get very upset. Needless to say we removed the gate and he took off running. He hasn’t quite mastered corners yet, but he’s running like crazy. Alfie is doing so remarkable. His legs are getting stronger every day. The hydrotherapy has been so remarkable in building the muscle Alfie is almost full grown. Tomorrow he goes for his neuter.
