Meet Balor!

Balor is a 2-year-old Mountain Cur mix, currently 60 pounds (a little underweight) and looking for his forever home. Mountain Curs are known for their intelligence, strength, and loyalty, and Balor is no exception!

Though he came from an unfortunate situation in the South, he's ready to thrive in the North with a loving family by his side. He may be shy at first, but once he warms up, he's incredibly gentle, affectionate, and eager to please. He already know basic commands like sit, paw, and lay down, and he's making great progress with house training.

Balor's deep, soulful eyes have a way of melting hearts, and if you’re hoping for a kiss? Well… you just might get lucky! With patience, love, and a little time, he will show you just how loyal and devoted he can be. Are you the perfect match for him? He's ready to find a forever home!

Hello everyone, I'm Wembley... yes, like the stadium. My foster family isn't sure of my "football" skills, but I must be royalty because they've dubbed me the "Duke of Pet-Me-Please." I sure do love to be petted! So far I've shown great home manners and have been a gentle friend. If you're seeking for a low key, affectionate, and obedient companion, I may be your pup! Beagles are popular family pets due to their intelligent good natures, medium size and loyalty to their people. Rizza is a mature age six, a fairly low energy fella who is fond of napping and chewing on nylabones. He is known to put his nose to the ground when on walks and plays nicely with his foster brothers. At 25 pounds, Rizza would fit into just about any home. Grab an application to make his day!

You're on Terra firma with this puppy! Nine month old Terra has been studiously training for her adoption and is ready to meet you. She is a 27 pound houndy girl mix, sweet as gumdrops and a true lovebug. She is affectionate and snuggly, and loves toys. Terra is potty trained, sleeps quietly in her crate (or better yet, with you!), adores kids and loves everyone in general. And isn't she pretty? For a young dog, she has learned so much and has a bright future ahead of her--especially if you're in it!

Zek cordially invites you to review his resume and consider him for a role in your home. He has experience as a family member sometime in his five year past as he is crate/house trained and is friendly with dogs and cats. All of his 27 pounds are available for playing, petting, or both. Zek's polite house manners make him an exemplary candidate for satisfactory roommate-ness. If a butterscotch and white Beagle boy appeals to you, check this guy out. He's the sweetest guy! ? ? !

If you need a little s***k in your life, this is the girl for you! Meet Cocoa and let her joyful lap sitting become a regular part of your day. She is a beautiful mahogany colored chihuahua, two years old and 12 pounds of animated enthusiasm. Her big bug-eyes never miss a trick. Being bossy, bold and spicy is her thing, as is sweetly adoring her people from her lapsitting vista. She will lay her head on your chest to gaze lovingly up at you while enjoying having her soft, lush coat stroked. An expert supervisor, Cocoa will follow you everywhere to make sure things are being handled appropriately. She is a yappy, fun, and affectionate wee dog who will make someone a wonderful life companion. !

Six lucky pups found Happy Bark homes and want to share their good news with you. !

Our sweet Butters discovered that licking a baby's ears is a lot of fun. Little Augustine was happy to oblige when parents Kendra and Nick adopted Butters on Valentine's Day. ❤️ (Be sure to zoom in on Butters's face to appreciate her big doggy smile.)

Retirees Heather and Dennis knew it would take time and patience with young Bubba, so they fostered him before adopting to make sure he was a good fit. A good option!

It took a while for Robin and Jim to get over the loss of their chocolate lab, JayJay. They cast a wide net to look for their next pup and settled on blue heeler Lizzie. After taking some time as her foster parents, Lizzie has been officially adopted.

Leslie brought her daughter and grandkids to meet little Grant on a very snowy Erie day. She was searching for a quiet lapdog to share time with her wheelchair-user hubby. Grant is happy to oblige. After a very rough start in life, Grant finally has all the yums, petting and laps he could have ever dreamed of. Check out his celebration photo in comments below for your smile of the day.

Oz was a popular little guy so Lisa was in luck when she quickly applied to foster him. After a road trip to Maryland for family matters, his adoption is now complete and he is settling in.

Josh surprised everyone when he stepped off transport. Coming to us described as a Brittnay Spaniel, Josh's decidedly unspaniel-like appearance didn't detract from Gregg and Julie adopting him right then. The three of them are back home in Buffalo, where Josh has settled in to being a NewYawker. !

Her sister, Nobility, has been adopted, and now it's Pickles's turn! Nobility's new fam had her DNA tested and guess what, it came back 100% Lemon Colored Foxhound! Google it to see photos that are dead ringers for these gorgeous dogs! Who knew? What we do know, though, is that Pickles is a sweet two year old, weighs under 50 pounds, and is very affectionate. She is house trained, very people-oriented and the queen of cuddles. Spicy? Nah, Pickles will pucker you up for kisses. She likes other dogs and cats, adores sleeping in bed with you (if allowed), and is friends to all at the dog park. Pickles would like you to add her to your pet-charcuterie for just the right amount of fun and tang. Grab an application and get the party started!

This is why we foster. On the left is little Cocoa in the shelter, often a noisy, busy environment that she found to be scary and upsetting. The photo on the right was taken just a few hours after she arrived in her foster home to await adoption. You, too, can bring a smile like that to a dog! It's a reward like no other. !

Dog Rescue Reimagined

Happy Bark is the brainchild of Eric Po***ck, who, after years of volunteering in various rescues and shelters, envisioned a different kind of dog rescue/adoption through positivity and partnership. In 2020, Eric invited three friends who also had experience in rescue to join him in creating Happy Bark, Inc. We are a forward-thinking, foster-based rescue with a philosophy of team collaboration, celebration, and proaction in rescue and adoption. Please check out the “About Us” tab on our website for more information.
