"Howdy, folks! The name's Whitt, and I've got a little tale to tell, one that's got a bit of heart and a whole lotta soul. I'm an 8-year-old Boxer mix, and while I might have a few gray hairs, my heart's as full of love as ever. My life's been like a country song, with some ups and downs, but I've always kept my tail waggin' and my spirit bright.
I had a best friend-a real good man who didn't have much but always made sure I had what I needed. We roamed the roads together, side by side, just me and him exploring the world. He loved me like family, and I loved him right back. But when he got a dream in his heart to head to Nashville and try his luck, he knew the journey might be a bit too rough for a seasoned fella like me, especially in the summer heat. So, with a tear in his eye, he asked the nice folks at a shelter to help find me a new home, one where I could live out my golden years in comfort.
Now I'm here at Happy Bark, and I've gotta say, I'm the perfect companion. I'm a big guy at 85 handsome pounds with a beautiful coat, a laid-back and friendly nature. I'm as gentle as a summer breeze. I get along great with other dogs and even cats-just an easy-going kinda guy who loves to be around folks.
Sometimes, when I'm lyin' in the sunshine or watchin' the stars, I think about my old friend. I wonder how he's doin' out there in Nashville, chasin' his dreams. And you know, I can almost imagine hearin' one of his songs on the radio someday-a song about me and him, about the roads we traveled and the bond we shared. I reckon it'd be a tune full of heart, just like him. And maybe, just maybe, when that song plays, he'll know I'm out here, waggin' my tail and thinkin' of him.

Niki and Trevor brought their boxer mix, Lailah, to meet spunky puppy Alastor. Some significant romping concluded with the three month old pup's adoption, and off they went to their home in Butler!
Dick had no computer experience for a digital adoption, but he got by with a little help from his friends. After losing his Husky companion of 13 years, Dick was eager to find a new canine companion. Sweet Husky Granger fit the bill to a T and Dick was delighted to take him home.
Sweet Gypsy left her brother Jasper's side to go off to a new home of her own. Karla and Steve brought their dachshund mix, Buddy, to see if the dogs could be playmates and it was thumbs up (if dogs had thumbs). Gypsy is now snuggling in bed with everyone overnight and enjoying zoomies in the yard with Buddy.
Pam's daughter Casey was one of our very first Happy Bark adopters and Pam waited a long time to find just the right dog for herself. After looking at various candidates for about three years, Pam's timing was perfect to meet little guy, Chubbs. Everyone is getting along fine, and they all finally has their wishes come true.
Nicole and Dean are true lovers of little dogs. They had five various mixes at home when charming little Doodlebug caught their eyes. He's now happily living a fun life--with lots of tiny dog company!
Gibbs was a popular dog among applicants; he needed the experience and tolerance of someone who previously had a spicy small dog who was (mostly adorably) pushy. Jody recently lost her bossy lap dog and fell in love with Gibbs's floppy ears. The little spitfire was just what she was hoping for and they are a great match!

This is Jasper, aka The Jaspinator, eleven pounds of spunky hilarity and entertainment. He is about five years old, crate trained and house broken, full of vinegar and enthusiasm. Jasper's zoomies are a sight to behold! He also loves to nap in your lap and is very treat motivated. This little guy is adorable, sweet and fun. Terri searched and searched for just the right dog to be her companion, and after considering then passing on almost a dozen candidates, she instantly settled on beautiful Jet. Now named Riley, this sweet-natured, calm retriever is exactly what Terri has been hoping for.
Fuzzy-faced Bailey, now named Tig, is living in Meadville with Chris, Emily and their two cutie pie daughters Parker and Mae. Chris works from home, and teacher Emily has been off for the summer to help acclimate their new family dog to a beautiful home and nice fenced yard.
Shy Walter is adjusting to his new housemate cat, W***y, and is gaining confidence with Corrin and George. Their patience is helping him to enjoy walks and getting exercise with his outdoor-loving family in Waterford. !
Deborah and Don lost their shepherd mix recently and fell for Rolo's puppy charm, and who could blame them.
They came up from Pittsburgh to adopt him and promptly went toy shopping, which he loved.

Lucky five month old black lab puppy Rachel is off to a great start as a Happy Bark pup. She weighs about 35 pounds now so she will be a medium size when full-grown. Rachel has been well-socialized and adores people, any people, all people, as well as other dogs to play with. She will be ready for adoption on 8/31 and applications are being accepted for her now. Hold onto your hearts, 'cause these tiny love bugs are about to steal 'em. Jasper (left) and Gypsy, five year old Chiweenies (chihuahua/dachshund mix) are ten pounds each of LOVEMELOVEMELOVEME. They are brother and sister, not a bonded pair, who are a hilarious combo of intense playfulness immediately followed by periods of profound napping. They are lapdogs extraordinaire who adore sitting with and on you to have their sleek black coats stroked and ears rubbed. They are terrific kissers. Jasper is the slightly bigger and bolder of the two, who will let you know if so much as a leaf trespasses on the property. He doesn't miss a trick. Sweet Gypsy likes to lay her head on your chest so she can gaze lovingly up at you. They love playing with other dogs in short bursts but mostly want to be your adoring shadow. These dogs can be adopted separately or together; they are just as happy to play with other dogs as each other, they care most about having lots of people-love, treats, and comfy napping spots. They are both so precious and are available for adoption on 8/24.

Her name is Powder and she is an absolute sweetheart of a two year old Great Pyrenees. We love offering this breed for adoption because of their wonderful dispositions and gentle, loyal natures. Powder walks easily right beside you on the leash and leans affectionately against your leg to be stroked and petted. Her soft, thick snowy coat just begs to be petted. Recovered as a stray, this lovely dog is currently on the thin side at 66 pounds, but that's nothing that some groceries won't cure! Powder gets along nicely with cats and other dogs. We have three special guests who just experienced their very first Erie snowfall - meet Petey, Pammy, and Perry! 🐶 These adorable pups from Kentucky couldn't believe their eyes (or paws!) when they saw the magical white landscape for the first time. Their excitement was contagious as they jumped, played, and discovered the joy of snow.
