I will be presenting a clinic at this year's Rocky Mountain Horse Expo in March. "Working the Companion Horse" will highlight some of the many activities and training exercises you can do with a horse that cannot be ridden due to injury, age, conformation, etc. While the clinic will be geared towards companion horses, I will be covering work over obstacles, liberty, and ground driving using the training methods I use with all the horses I work with.

I'm grateful to have horses from Far View Horse Rescue participating, and there will be a meet and greet at the end of each clinic for anyone interested in visiting with the horses or learning more about the rescue and adopting.

Clinic dates are March 9th, 10th, and 11th in the Event Center Barn Arena, 11am each day. Hope to see you there!

SOLD
For Sale: Rooster Scooter - 2007 AQHA Gelding

Scoot is for sale by his owner. He would do best with an advanced beginner to intermediate rider. Goes english and western, and has been shown in both as well. He is easy to ride but can be lazy. I recommend riding him with bumper spurs, though he can be ridden without. Scoot knows his gaits well, does flying changes, and has a great stop and back. He will spin both directions, side pass, track, and we are currently working on his tempi changes. He leads, ties, loads, and stands for the farrier.

He would make a great pleasure horse or even a low level dressage mount. I really enjoy working with this horse, he has a great personality and is fun to ride!

$6000. Located in Loveland, CO. Please let me know if you are interested and I can give you his owner's contact info.

We're one week away from the start of the 2017 Equine Comeback Challenge!

I'm super excited (and nervous!) to show what Tucker can do. We're still bouncing between two freestyle ideas, but I promise they are both fun!

Here is the schedule for the event at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo. There are lots of other great things to see and do while you're at the expo too! Come give Tucker a hello if you stop by, he loves visitors!

March 11th-
Equine Comeback Challenge - Ranch Riding Class: 10:00am-11:00am
Equine Comeback Challenge - Working Cattle Class: 2:00pm-4:00pm

March 12th-
Equine Comeback Challenge - Ranch Trail Class: 8:00am-10:00am
Equine Comeback Challenge - Top 10 Freestyle: 2:00pm

And don't forget that Tucker and lots of other amazing horses will be available for adoption via the Equine Comeback Challenge Adoption Auction right after the freestyle!

20/02/2017

It's almost time for the Equine Comeback Challenge!

Tucker will be available for adoption via auction after the event on March 12th. I put together a short video and a bio of him, more soon to come!

Tucker is a 4 year-old sorrel gelding, standing at about 14.1hh. I got a late start with him, and had to take it slow for a while after getting him due to an injury and footing issues, so he is not a 120-day horse like many of the other trainer's horses. But don't overlook him! Tucker will be a great prospect for almost anything you'd like to try with him. I think he'd make a wonderful mount for western dressage! He also has shown interest in working cattle and jumping. His gaits are all very comfortable and easy to ride.

Tucker is still young and learning, and will need someone to continue helping him build his confidence and training. He has a bit of a stubborn side, and can sometimes rush through new tasks and obstacles. But he comes back to you easily and works through it. He loves to be groomed, and stands well for grooming, saddling, trimming, bathing, and braiding. Tucker wants to be everyone's best friend, he will happily greet anyone at the gate and loves attention! He's a cute little horse with a fun personality.

If you have any questions please contact me. More photos and videos of Tucker can be found on my page, Hawk Horsemanship.

Two Horse Tack has done a great article on Tucker and I! We also have a new piece of their tack on the way, and I'll be posting some new photos once it arrives!

As always, a big thank you to Two Horse Tack for all their support and their amazing tack!

As the new year moves forward, many of us are reviewing our training goals with our horses for 2017. Trainer Sienna Hawk of Longmont, Colo. has a particularly large task in front of her with Tucker…
