Rosie D2023-30
• Needs a resident dog
• Dog savvy children
• Loving an patient family to help her grow
Rosie is an 8 year old Bichon cross toy poodle described by her foster mum as a quiet, gentle and sweet natured little girl. She enjoys being picked up and one of her favourite things is being cuddle by you. She has not attempted to jump on the sofa or climb the stairs yet.
She is not a fan of the outdoors as she is worried, she is going to be locked out and left. She will have a little wander around the garden but likes to go straight back in. Rosie doesn’t currently play with toys but will initiate play with other dogs in the home.
Rosie walks lovely on a lead and is not reactive to noises, dogs or people that she meets when out and about. She just likes to plod along, not even sniffing or weeing yet just following the person she trusts. Despite enjoying her walks she isn’t super active so is not going to want to go on long hikes up mountains but some nice walks are just what she needs.
Rosie eats well and sleeps all night down stairs curled up with her puppy mate. She is becoming more independent every day. She has started to relax and show real progress in her foster home. She is initially a little wary of strangers that enter the home, but if ignored she will come and ask for attention by doing a little cheeky hand nudging asking for affection or food.
She is not cat or small furry tested but due to her quiet nature and with gentle introductions we think she would be fine.
Rosie currently sleeps downstairs with the other dogs curled up together but would probably love to be on the bed with her forever human.
Toilet training is a work in progress and her new family are going to need to be very patient with her taking her out at regular intervals, singing the wee wee song and giving treats when she has done what she heeds to do. She is also not currently a fan of the rain or getting wet so positively encouraging her to go outside and toilet when its dry will help her when its wet.
Rosie needs a home with another dog. A patient family to help her learn the house rules and lots of love, support and cuddles. This is her chance for a new life and she is looking for her forever family that will give her the life she has never had.

Ianis (about 4-5 years old) and Honey (about 5-6), are desperately seeking a new, loving family. Ianis and Honey are a closely bonded pair of two incredibly affectionate and joyful dogs. Both pups were adopted from Romania to a wonderful family that loved them dearly and spoiled them rotten. Sadly, their whole world fell apart in less than a year, with both their owners passing away. It’s hard to imagine how distressed Honey and Ianis must feel with both mum and dad no longer here. We want to make sure they find a new home as soon as possible and that they stay together. They have always been inseparable, and they need each other now more so than ever.

Both Ianis and Honey are very social and friendly. They might get excited when new visitors enter the house, but they quickly calm down. Ianis is slightly more vocal than Honey, who’s a quiet, gentle soul. They never lived with young children, but they very much enjoy playing with the neighbours child. They might need some time to warm to other dogs, but a slow introduction will do the trick. A cat-free household is a must, as they will attempt to chase cats and other small animals. They are both house trained, they happily wear collars, harnesses and walk on a lead.

Ianis and Honey are incredibly affectionate and so fun to be around. Honey loves a tummy rub and a fuss, she will hop up on the sofa to feel close to someone. Ianis will leap up for a lap cuddle where he often settles down for a nap. They play happily together and benefit from having regular access to a garden. They love playing tug of war with toys but have no mercy - once a toy is decapitated they will pull the stuffing out, so toys with squeakers inside are to be restricted. Due to his terrier-like coat Ianis enjoys regular grooming sessions and he loves to pose with his new hairdo when finished. He’s also used to eating his food from a bowl on the sofa, a privilege his late dad allowed him to enjoy.

Despite the traumatic few months they’ve had, with so much change and uncertainty, they are still the two happiest dogs we know. They always greet family that comes to care for them with great joy and affection. They might need some time to adjust to a new home, but they will be such a wonderful addition to the family once they settle. They have a huge amount of love to give and deserve a safe forever home more than anyone.

Ianis and Honey are currently living in Halstead, Essex.

UPDATE ******

This post was about rescues collectively - it was not a post about us or our rehoming. It is about an entire industry in crisis. Please do not make this post about you. This is why so many are struggling because the wider perspective is overlooked in favour of individual wants and desires.

We are asking people to UNITE and support rescues of THEIR choice, we are all suffering and all rescues need your support.

Let's make this about the animals and not ourselves .

Thankyou to all those who know and support us and to my tireless team of volunteers who provide their much needed time and effort thanklessly and for no reward other than the knowledge that they helped save an animal in need. You are all my hero's THANKYOU XX

Rescue 2022 - Can we survive?

The world of rescue is currently facing the biggest challenge just to survive, we are all begging from the same audience, we are all praying for fosters, from the same limited groups. Rescue 2022 is currently not sustainable and the immense pressure on those in rescue is taking its toll.
To wake knowing there will be 20-30 requests to save dogs, you have no space for, you know that all other rescues are in the same boat and you know that your refusal will mean dogs die! How are we, as rescuers, equipped to deal with the knowledge that animals are dying and will continue to die because we failed them, because the government is failing us.
Despair does not come close to describing what we, and so many other rescues are coping with currently. We don't get government funding, we all have to beg and plead to raise funds, most rescues do not have huge advertising budgets that can compete to generate much needed funds - our money goes on saving the animals.
I sit and weep for those we cannot save, each one takes more than the last from me when you know what will happen because you have no more room..................
This post is not about pity, it about trying to somehow raise awareness, to learn as rescues together, how we can all move forward and SURVIVE what is essentially a national disaster for animals and many humans alike in 2022.
Animal Rescue is in crisis and the consequences of this are reaching catastrophic levels. We all need help and Hope ❤

Such worrying times for rescues😢

Animal rescue is currently hitting a crisis point for a few reasons. A vast number of animals were purchased or adopted during the pandemic, and now […]

Cally is just having no luck finding a home - not one single application since her profile went live! Cally adores people and would make a wonderful companion - she would be the perfect nap buddy!

We often see high volumes of applications for the more traditionally cute dogs whilst other dogs are overlooked for months on end. If you are looking to adopt a rescue dog in need please consider the slightly older ones, the ones with a few extra rolls, the ones with quirks - they deserve a home just as much!

Cally's profile can be found here: https://dogsfriends.me.uk/portfolio_page/cally/
