This is a real story of Pepper, a street dog, who, with great difficulty managed to find food for himself, to survive. As a result of malnutrition, he developed arthritis at the hip joint on his hind leg, and therefore, had difficulty walking around. Further, his kidneys were not functioning properly which exacerbated with his age. One fine day, while crossing the road inside the gated community, which he considered home, a bus ran over his hind leg, the same leg in which he had developed arthritis. Writhing in pain, he managed to move to the side of the road. The caretakers of the community used a door mat to move him out of the community. There, he lay, in pain, not able to move, but very much alive, helpless, and vulnerable. A group of compassionate people shifted him to a hospital and raised funds to fix the fractured hind leg. Gradually, he was not able to eat, and had to be given drips, with pain killers and sedatives. Doctors were not able to perform the surgery as his kidney parameters and CBC were skewed and were trying to bring that in order. For five full days, he fought like a warrior, to get up, but his body was slowly giving up. On the sixth day, after he was given his dose of drips, his exhaled his last breath.
Who killed Pepper?
