There's not an easy way to say this, but I've crossed the rainbow bridge. My hips were tired and there were other issues. So Peter and I said our last goodbyes a couple weeks ago and I went to sleep for the last time.
Don't grieve for me; instead, celebrate the fact we got to meet each other, and enjoy life together -- no matter if it was for years or for a fleeting moment.
Hug your dog, pray for Peter, know that I'm now in a better place, and I loved being with all of you.
Bear, the St. Berdoodle
(Note: This is Peter's brother, Paul. Peter doesn't do Facebook, so I've been Bear's voice from 1,100 miles away. Sorry that I wasnt the best uncle at keeping this page up as much as I wanted to, or you would have wanted me to. I got to see him in July and he was hurting then. And the last night I got to be with him, he lay on the couch with his head in my lap for almost 2 hours, getting scratched, petted and loved. Bear was one of a kind, and even tho I only saw him every couple of years or so, I will miss him very much. I had to put my furbuddy down in January after nearly 14 years together, so I know what Peter is going through. There are tears, smiles, more tears, but knowing that not only did we change their lives, but they changed ours. And that's the memory to take away.)
