Ruff’d ropes make tuff leashes

Soon after adopting our dog, we began using our old climbing rope and webbing for her leashes, collars, lines, etc.. At the time it not only saved money, but the ropes we used were made to last longer than what is usually found commercially available.

As we took our dog outdoors, friends and neighbors began asking us to make them ropes too. We started grabbing discarded rope from our climbing gym, and after a soak to get the chalk and grime out, tying them into more leashes.

The greater dog-loving community is full of charities that do amazing work. We're lucky to be surrounded by folks who volunteer at shelters and whose dogs work as therapy dogs, in search and rescue, and in avalanche rescue. Our hope is to do what little we can to help them - which is why we're selling ropes here so we can pass along what we earn here.

Each leash is made from recycled/upcycled climbing gym rope and tied to stay intact. We like to keep things minimal, so the only new, non-rope material is the metal ring near the handle and the attachment clip. Rope colors are limited to what we can source, but if you have a special request.
