This product will be available along with my new leave in conditioner bar at the Horsemanship Showcase at Bury farm 25/26 November

Winter is the time I can look at different products and different scents / oil blends.

What handmade soaps for washing your special pony or horse would you like to see?

I can use essential oils or fragrance oils, you could have a cooling minty soap, a summer berry smelling soap, one aimed at dry skin, a woodsy one. I’m open to suggestions from customers.

All products are kind to skin and your hands and a little goes a long way.

I’d also be looking for some testers. I have developed a leave in conditioner bar, but I need some feedback on how you find it absorbs if too much mud sticks to it when your pony is out etc. I also have a stain reducer in the pipe line I just need to work out packing. If you would be interested in testing some products please let me know ideally you would be happy to give me feedback and cover cost and postage as this really mounts up for a small business. I have tested products first but feedback helps with development and how to package.
I’ve also invested in refill bags for the soap so you can top up your plastic tubs and help reduce waste, is this something you would be interested in as a customer?

Heavy Horse Nutrition Seminar
Dodson & Horrell and the Shire Horse Society are pleased to offer a seminar on heavy horse nutrition with a tour of Dodson & Horrell’s mill.

Led by Product Manager, Louise Scott, BSc(Hons), MSc and Nutritional Manager, Emma Nissler from Dodson & Horrell, the seminar will cover the following topics.

• Foundations of nutrition – basic nutritional anatomy, importance of forage, requirements for energy/protein/vits and mins.
• What does a healthy horse look like? – Fat scoring, how to condition score a ‘heavy’ breed and touching on obesity.
• The simple approach to feeding – how to put together a well-balanced diet + how to feed straights well. This will touch on feeding breeding animals too.
• Question + answer session.
• Tour of the mill with talk

Stable stains and mares leg stains are always a pain to get rid of. No stain remover exists that will rid old stains totally. The work has begun to formulate a natural product with essential oils to help tackle this staining without damaging the hair or the skin. First round of trial product is looking like it’s doing it job. Keep an eye on the page for updates on progress!

It’s made…. Intensive conditioner for mane, tail and feather. Natural ingredients and all plant based with blend of essential oils. Available in bar and paste (ingredients vary slightly for bar and paste). A little goes a long way, will take a while to apply so not a quick slap on and wash off. I still need to get labels made then we are ready to go!
