Fellmeth's Fosters & Wildlife From Ohio to Sarasota county FL. Fostering kittens since 2013. Wildlife since 2020. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way.

Our second was a rescue purebred Persian, who made the move from Ohio to Florida with us but sadly

died at 16 years old. We currently have 2 rescued tiger cats that are living the life on a Florida lanai ever day! We are also learning to rehab wildlife. Specifically bunnies, eastern cottontails. They are often separated from mom because of dogs and humans. Often they come to us injured. Our goal is to always keep them as wild as possible and release them back out into the wild. And this is where you come in to join our fostering story!

These three don't know it yet but they are about yo head out into the wild green yonder.

For those new to our page, a reminder. It is illegal to keep wild animals. Should you find any wildlife, as long as it isn't in imminent danger, don't touch and immediately contact your local wildlife rescue or licensed rehabber.

We have gone through hours of training and are under the umbrella of many licensed rehabbers at a rescue as well as the watchful eye of a wildlife vet.

Bunnies are particularly vulnerable as they have very delicate digestive systems and have the best chance of survival eating formula and food specifically for them.

Who's out there?!

One of the first tiniest had some health issues and had to go back to the wildlife center. Thankfully the bigger two were waiting for us, and filled in for the little guy. They groom him and keep him bundled and warm between them. Tinies eyes opened and they will be transferred to a cage today. We are getting some more cool weather. If they go into the screen room we'll put supplemental heat disk in (more for the tiny than anything) just to make sure they're comfortable. They are Florida bunnies you know! 😆 They are all good eaters, used to the nipple now and suck it right down. They have timothy hay and orchard grass, thankfully Petco has bags and we don't have to store bales in our backyard. Lol

What do you mean, we have to leave!? NOPE looks scary out there. NOPE

Someone donated small freezer packs that come with their insulin. We've had them awhile, so thought we'd put one in each bunbun cage. Bunnies can regulate their temperatures just fine, but we have had some intense heat. Also the screen room is situated so that it doesn't pick up any outdoor breeze. Figured they'd enjoy the cool if they wanted, or not. This guy has been sprawled out on it for awhile. Its not frozen anymore, but I'm thinking he might like the waterbed aspect. 😂

Most of these guys pretty much go on their own once they're weaned. But these guys come running when they hear my voice. Even though Charlie keeps them in food now, they don't pay any attention to him. Lol They'll be ready to go next week. As long as the monsoons are gone. I'm gonna miss them. 💕
