What is giving Tuesday?
it is global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Why us?
We are a resource for companion parrots in need, and those who love them.
Connecticut Parrot Rescue was founded in July 2015 and as of September 2016, became an official 501c3 non-profit public charity. We are completely run by Connecticut-based volunteer foster homes, who aid the transition and rehabilitation processes of companion parrots into loving adoptive homes. Please browse our website to learn more about our organization, our exciting partnerships, how you can get involved and of course... our amazing adoptable parrots! We strive to give our parrots the best possible care, and then integrate them into suitable and loving homes.

How to donate?
We have many ways available on our website for donations. You can even buy supplies off of our Amazon wish list if you don’t wish to do a monetary donation.

Cookie is a friendly and sweet cockatiel. She can be a little unsure when coming out of her cage, but once she’s out she doesn’t want to go back in! She loves climbing and walking around, but even more so, sitting on your shoulder to be high up and in search of a head scritch.

Many parrot owners believe that getting bitten is just part of the territory...but what if it didn’t have to be? 🚫
Biting is a form of communication, and your parrot likely gave you several warning signs before resorting to a bite. They may have stepped back, moved away from your hand, refused to step up, pinned their eyes, opened their beak, or even hissed!

Parrots primarily communicate through body language, and it’s our job to pay attention and respect what they’re telling us. By observing and honoring your parrot’s signals, you can significantly reduce the chances of being bitten.
