If you've been following Pokey since his adoption you know that he was a biter since his previous home. And he is an a-hole when he bites. Because he doesn't let go, even with the blowing trick, he'll just bite even harder and he'll even pull and try to tear. His bite hurts a lot and I bled so many times.

At first it made me lose interest in handling, because I had enough of handling bitemarks and blood for at least once a week. And this went on for almost 7-8 months? Imagine that... 7-8 months of regular biting and bleeding.

But after reading a lot of articles and discussion, I realized that this is no reason not to handle him. In fact, it is the more reason to handle him more often.

And I also learned that hedgehog are not like dogs. Hogs do not understand reprimands. They hiss, ball up and even bite to scare us away. So the more we react, the more we reprimand, the more we raise our voice... or even worse if we leave them be when they act up, they will be happier. They like getting reaction out of us, they like our anger and fear, they want us to leave them alone.

So even when you're hedgehog hisses, curls, ball up, or even bite... handle them. Handle them regularly until they give up and put down their guards and let us love them.

The electricity panel in our apartment building exploded this morning - at around 11 am-ish. The fire alarm went off and I rushed down with my two baby piggies. We waited in the garden and they popcorned while eating grass.

Long story short, the electricity panel is still busted hence there are no electricity available for the whole tower. We checked the time and it qas 9 PM already, we had to do something. The apartment offered to reimburse hotel expenses for 1 night, so we decided to take on the offer.

We booked an affordable hotel nearby and I smuggled the piggies into the room!!! (Please tell me it's not a crime).

Anyway, we'll be here til tomorrow. Please pray so us 4 will make it through the night 😉

Pokey and I was invited to join the RLM team for NET Mediatama Televisi's Indonesia Morning Show on February 11th. A little late but do take a look a these BTS photos! 🙂

**in a side note, February is ending soon and I was sitting and l realized that this month I have only handled my babies for around 4 days. I was away from February 1st to 9th. Then I flew out of town again on the 13th and I'm still out of town as of today.

To say, I miss my babies, is an understatement. I can't wait to be back ad cuddle them three one by one.

It's been a year since Pokey was adopted and came into our family!!! Yesterday to be exact, so this is a latepost. We took him in on January 10th, 2017. He'a grown so much and we're so glad he is healthy. Here are his latest photos, taken this morning.
