We are a nonprofit animal rescue that saves stray, neglected, and abandoned Aruban dogs. We are a proud member of the Caribbean Rescue Coalition.
Created from the passion and determination of our founding member Natalya Yermak, New Life for Paws’ mission is to rescue as many stray, neglected, and abandoned Aruban dogs as possible while also advocating for spay/neuter programs to reduce the overwhelming amount of street dogs on the island. We provide shelter, food, and veterinary treatment for each of the rescues save. Everything our small b

A lot happens behind the scenes that we don’t always get to share. But today, we’re giving you a glimpse into how people come together to make a difference.
Meet Alfred (that’s how we named him). He’s an old cat, smelling of decay and looking like he’s on his last legs. No, Alfred isn’t a stray—he has an “owner.” Thankfully, he also has a neighbor who genuinely cares.
Alfred’s situation was reported to Tamara, a dedicated animal activist in Aruba. Because he was difficult to catch, the incredible trappers from Stichting Dogs and Cats were called in. After much effort, they managed to catch him, and he was taken to the vet with costs covered by NLFP.
The vet bills are already enormous, but how could we turn him away? Alfred is suffering from a severe mouth infection, has no teeth left, and is infested with lice.
Tomorrow, we’ll have to make some tough decisions about Alfred’s future. Without his caring neighbor, without Tamara, and without Stichting Dogs and Cats, Alfred would still be out there, suffering in silence.

Our Story
New Life For Paws is a legally registered foundation on the island of Aruba.
The mission of New Life For Paws is to rescue as many stray, neglected and abandoned dogs as possible while spaying and neutering to reduce the overpopulation of street dogs in Aruba. We provide shelter, food and veterinary treatment for each of the rescue dogs that we save.
New Life For Paws has gained momentum and taken on a new life of it's own!
Since our humble beginnings, our team has grown, awareness has been raised, and we have joined forces with Aruba Flight Volunteers, a chaperone service to connect Aruba rescues with new "fur-ever" families in the United States.
This has opened up more possibilities and opportunities which allows us to spay and neuter rescued adult dogs to break the cycle of unwanted, abandoned dogs on the island. We are able to find loving families to adopt our Aruba rescues and educate the local community on the responsibilities of pet ownership to provide care for their furry family members. All our successful rescues and adoptions are due to the support, dedication, hard work and passion of our volunteers. Without our volunteers to make such a difference, none of our achievements would be possible.
