She saw a group of kids running around, riding their bikes, and, my favorite part….Saw some really spooky Halloween decorations! 🎃🥰

Part 2/3 of Teddy’s bike journey!
Sorry for the lack of posts! Life has been crazy, in the process of moving but will hopefully be more active fairly soon after things calm down!
But in the meantime join me and watch how much the reinforcement and consistency has paid off!

We’ve been working on it, and with some training, Teddy is now able to join our bike rides and explore with us! After running around and once he’s tired he’ll go right into the backpack and we can keep riding.
It’s YOUR job to put in the work to not only benefit your life but also your dog’s!
✨let them EARN their freedom!✨

Another important part of introducing Teddy to the bike is what happens when he can no longer run beside us and gets tired?
When I first started he didn’t love the backpack all that much, but it is a crucial part of he is going to join us. As always I made sure to make it a positive/calm experience with lots of rewards and then I slowly built the duration of him being in the backpack for when we are actively riding, he has worked his way up to hanging out in the backpack and remaining relaxed for 3 hours so far!

-Teaching your dog a ‘relax’ or ‘settle’ cue is great for promoting calm behavior, especially in overly friendly dogs that just want to say hello!

Bija had the best 4th of July weekend filled with lots of training and fun! I worked with her on recall, leave it, and leash walking. She is doing so much better with listening while there are distractions outside! Bella learned that getting in the car isn’t so scary!! -Work on what YOUR dog needs! As you can see from the first clip, Bella was very nervous about getting in the car, especially after the handle on her harness was touched. After about 15 minutes of figuring out what her triggers were, I found what works best for her…….. Key takeaways of what helped Bella: -Having more open space for her to jump in -Showing her she CAN do it by helping ONLY A FEW TIMES -NOT TOUCHING THE HANDLE ON THE HARNESS!✨ -Knowing she was struggling with it, I used a very high-value treat that was new to her to keep her excited and engaged! -LOTS OF PRAISE FOR THE BEST GIRL!! (Of course!) Reminder:These are things that helped Bella. EACH DOG IS DIFFERENT, SO WHAT WORKS FOR HER MIGHT VARY FOR OTHER DOGS! Questions, comments or concerns?
