Operating in Cape Town's southern suburbs We do this over and above our day job and it is purely voluntary.

Aid 4 Animals in Distress or Aid4Aid is a local non-kill animal rescue organization operating in Cape Town’s greater South. We were born in 2015 as a WhatsApp group when a group of passionate animal-loving people were networking and rescuing stray animals in the Kirstenhof and surrounding areas. This network grew rapidly, and Aid 4 Animals in Distress was officially formalised in April 2016 and is

a registered NPO. Our organisation is run by 7 working professional individuals who are extremely passionate about the welfare and safety of animals. Aid4Aid’s main objectives are to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in distress including injured, abandoned, abused, and stray animals within the Kirstenhof area and surrounding southern suburbs. Our further objective is to educate our community members on the proper care and treatment of their animals and to encourage them to report abuse to the relevant authorities in their area. To date, our organisation has taken over 1500 animals into our care. We receive no government funding and rely solely on the generosity of the public to support our various fundraising initiatives, allowing us to continue to serve the animals in our greater community. We also have our Section 18a Tax exemption from SARS and as such we can issue tax certificates. Not only do we support our animals, but we do a lot of outreach work whereby we send food, blankets, etc to underprivileged homes in much need of these items for their animals. On top of the much-needed funding, which is crucial to pay our vet bills, we also need and appreciate the following donations:

15 Puppies, 3 Mom Dogs, 1 Home!
(Aid 4 Animals in Distress - Cape Town)

This is why we need your help! This is where your donations go!

Today, we collected 15 pups from 3 different litters from the same home on Lavender Hill. We were aware of them and had been sending food for the moms to feed them correctly. Today was the day that we needed to get them all out. All the adult dogs will be sterilised soon and we did drop off more food for them.

There were 2 x 4-month-olds, 7 x 8-week-olds, and 6 x 4-week-olds. These are the older ones after experiencing grass for the first time in their short lives. They were all bathed, dewormed, and deflead. They will be vaccinated after the quarantine period. All are now safe in foster care.

This will be a large cost on us so we are appealing for donations to anyone who can assist these beautiful pups. We hope that you can find it in your hearts to donate toward them and the many pups who are waiting in the wings to be rescued too.

The December D litter pups are ready for adoption, and we have thrown in a Pixie for good measure.

Introducing the Aid 4 Animals in Distress Team!

Aid4Aid has grown immensely over our ten years of operation. We continue to develop as both an organisation and as individuals, learning valuable lessons and overcoming numerous challenges.

Each member of our Strategic Team is involved in the daily operations of our organization. Our responsibilities include managing adoptions, fostering, rescuing animals, outreach, and fundraising.

Each team member dedicates countless hours of their spare time to rescuing and rehabilitating animals in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, despite our full-time jobs. Please keep this in mind when reaching out to us, but feel free to contact any of us if you need assistance.

Our love and commitment to helping animals grows with every rescue, and we strive to maintain this dedication in the future.

We have 7 DAYS LEFT to find MOJO a foster or home. Failing that, we will have nowhere for her to go.

The last post for Mojo was shared over 750 times and received 125,000 views. Despite this, she still does not have a new foster or home. Unfortunately, her current foster home is traveling next week, so we will have nowhere for her to go. A new foster home for her would be great, but a forever home would be amazing.

Mojo is good with other dogs but enjoys her own space at times. That said, we can facilitate an introduction. She does fine as the only dog in the house and adores her humans. Mojo is a cuddle bug, as is evident in the photos. Unfortunately, Mojo does not do cats.

Please can someone provide this 2.5-year-old girl with an urgent lifeline? The clock is ticking.

We URGENTLY need more FOSTER homes!

It is kitten season, and as such, it is raining kittens. In addition, we have three litters of puppies coming from Lavender Hill in the next few weeks.

When we cannot help animals, in dire circumstances like this, they are given away, stolen, or sometimes die. That is the unfortunate reality. So, we are imploring homes to open their doors and help by fostering.

Homes must:
1. have own transport
2. live in the southern suburbs of Cape Town (our vet is in Tokai)
3. have someone home during the day for pups
4. be able to foster longer-term until homes are found

The final Paws-A-While of 2024 is upon us this Sunday, December 8th.

Beautiful MOJO needs an urgent lifeline in the form of a foster or forever home, as we will soon have nowhere for her to go.

This gorgeous girl remains unwanted and is in search of the perfect home to adopt her. Unfortunately, her current foster home is traveling next week, so we will have nowhere for her to go. A new foster home for her would be great, but a forever home would be amazing.

The reality of animal rescue... (Aid 4 Animals in Distress - Cape Town, South Africa) This is what we face daily. This is what all Cape Town animal rescues face daily. This is the reality of rescue. Cape Town based animal rescues are overflowing and stretched to capacity. We have to say no to animals like this all the time. These are 7-week-old pups living in abject squalor. We are trying to get these pups, and others like them, into foster care. We need foster homes! They and their mom are scavenging in garbage piles to find food. Their future is unknown but destined to stay the same unless we change it. This is why animals arrive with Parvo, Giardia, and Coccidia. And the list goes on. And yes, there is an argument to be made regarding people having animals that they cannot feed. Most of these people can hardly feed themselves. We cannot fight that fight, try to rescue the pups, sterilise the adult dogs, and send food for them, all at our expense and all at the same time. We cannot help animals, like the pups in the video, when we do not have willing foster homes. We cannot help animals like this while homes aren't adopting rescue animals to make more space for the new ones. THIS is the reality of animal rescue. This is how animals will remain until good people put their hands up to help. So, please consider ADOPTING an animal. If you cannot adopt, please consider FOSTERING. If you cannot foster, please consider DONATING. We, especially these animals, need your help more than ever.

Just look at loving ATHENA and one of our foster kittens, Willow. (Southern Suburbs of Cape Town) NB: An application process, home check, and adoption fee apply to all animals. Willow, who has been rehomed, isn't even one of Athena's kittens. Willow was rescued sometime after all of Athena's kittens had found homes. Athena is still the most loving foster mom. Athena and her kittens were abandoned in Lavender Hill when their family moved out and abandoned a pregnant Athena behind. Shortly after that, she gave birth. As mentioned, all of her kittens have found homes. Athena, who we estimate at three years old, was a great mother despite having a terrible upper respiratory tract infection and needing treatment. Treatment included a nebulizer, something she happily let the foster perform regularly. Athena is the most incredible cat and extremely loving and affectionate with humans. She is a bit of a shy cat with new humans, after all, she has been through, we can understand. She will need some time to warm up to a new family and home. She adores her foster, though, as well as his dogs, cats, and the foster kittens. These types of cases and animals are so often overlooked, yet they are so ultimately deserving of your love! Let's show Athena some love and find her that forever home now. Our Story...

It’s incredibly humbling to look back and reflect on what started off as a WhatsApp group and is now a fully fledged rescue organisation. What a ride it has been and how we continually learn and grow from strength to strength. To date thus far we have rescued and rehomed over 750 animals.

Our committee is comprised of twelve individuals which includes a Chairman, Financial Officer, Secretary, Adoptions Manager, Behaviorist and Wildlife Officer. Some may not know this either, but each of us has a full time job and this is purely a voluntary passion that we commit to whole heartedly in our limited spare time.

This organisation, however, would not be the success it is today, without the tremendous support from an amazing community. Our 4 WhatsApp groups contain over 200 willing participants who are never afraid to drop what they are doing and attend to emergency situations, from confronting puppy sellers to rescuing stray dogs.

We don’t have a formal premises and completely rely on foster care, with each and every foster home aiding in the rehabilitation of every animal in their care.
