Aid 4 Animals In Distress NPO: 214-400 / PBO: 930070315

Operating in Cape Town's southern suburbs We do this over and above our day job and it is purely voluntary.

Aid 4 Animals in Distress or Aid4Aid is a local non-kill animal rescue organization operating in Cape Town’s greater South. We were born in 2015 as a WhatsApp group when a group of passionate animal-loving people were networking and rescuing stray animals in the Kirstenhof and surrounding areas. This network grew rapidly, and Aid 4 Animals in Distress was officially formalised in April 2016 and is

a registered NPO. Our organisation is run by 7 working professional individuals who are extremely passionate about the welfare and safety of animals. Aid4Aid’s main objectives are to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in distress including injured, abandoned, abused, and stray animals within the Kirstenhof area and surrounding southern suburbs. Our further objective is to educate our community members on the proper care and treatment of their animals and to encourage them to report abuse to the relevant authorities in their area. To date, our organisation has taken over 1500 animals into our care. We receive no government funding and rely solely on the generosity of the public to support our various fundraising initiatives, allowing us to continue to serve the animals in our greater community. We also have our Section 18a Tax exemption from SARS and as such we can issue tax certificates. Not only do we support our animals, but we do a lot of outreach work whereby we send food, blankets, etc to underprivileged homes in much need of these items for their animals. On top of the much-needed funding, which is crucial to pay our vet bills, we also need and appreciate the following donations:
Cat food
Dog food
Fleece blankets
Cat litter (clumping)
Dog toys
Cat toys
Deworming treatment
Deflea treatment
Puppy pens
Kitten Milk
Puppy Milk

GRIFFIN needs your help.
(Aid 4 Animals in Distress - Southern Suburbs, Cape Town)

Griffin, the happy, bubbly 4-month-old pup, was rescued from horrible circumstances a few months ago. Lately, his foster has noticed some limping in his back right leg. He was x-rayed at our vet and then referred to a specialist. Unfortunately, Griffin has severe hip dysplasia in his back right hip.

Thankfully, this can be fixed, though, with an operation called a Triple pelvic osteotomy or TPO. This operation yields excellent results for his long-term prognosis and will prevent future issues later in life.

The operation and subsequent recovery hospitalisation are expensive. So we need your help to raise R30 000 (reduced welfare price) to cover the bill. It is a lot of money to spend on one animal, but when we take on an animal, we promise to help them no matter what.

Please consider helping Griffin in his hour of need to ensure that he has a fantastic future.

Let's start this week with six bundles of KITTEN joy.
(Aid 4 Animals in Distress - Southern Suburbs, Cape Town)

NB: An application process, home check, and adoption fee apply to all animals.

These stunning kittens are around 8 weeks old and ready to join loving homes. It is kitten season, and the kittens are pouring in. Adopting one or two of these beauties will make space for more rescue kittens in need.

Juniper - Female, Torti Tabby
Blossom - Female, Tabby
Maple - Male, Tabby
Cloud - Males, Dilute Ginger and White
Sunny - Female, Dilute Ginger
Shadow - Female, Tortoise Shell

All have been tested for Feline Aids and Leukemia and tested negative. The Tabby kittens have already been vaccinated and chipped. The others will be done before this weekend when they will be ready to move to their forever homes.

If you are interested in any of these kittens, please WhatsApp message Grant on 0724740787

And our ADULT DOGS continue to wait for homes to choose them.
(Aid 4 Animals in Distress - Southern Suburbs, Cape Town)

NB: An application process, home check, and adoption fee apply to all animals.

Despite the last post's great exposure, not one of our adult dogs found a home. Some have been waiting for years, and all have been waiting for over a year. They have bounced between foster homes, and families continue to overlook them.

Ruby - female mixed breed, small to medium, 4 years old (waiting for 2 years)
Benson - male, medium to large, 5 years 8 months old (waiting for 5 years)
Stevie - male, medium to large, 5 years 4 months old (waiting for 4 years)
Jasper - male mixed breed, medium, 5 years 1 month old (waiting for 4 years)
Mojo - female mixed breed, medium to large, 2 years 3 months old (waiting for 1 year)

Everyone wants to adopt a puppy. However, there are so many advantages to an adult dog. We can tell you loads about their likes, dislikes, temperament, and energy levels. Please consider one of these beautiful souls to join as part of your loving family.

Please WhatsApp message Leanne on 0837777528 or Grant 0724740787 should you be interested in any of these dogs.

Bonnie - female, 10-11 months old (medium, mixed breed)

Kitten season is here with force, so let's start with our first set of kittens looking for homes - the Bridgerton litter. And aren't they just stunning?
(Aid 4 Animals in Distress - Cape Town - Southern Suburbs)

NB: An application process, home check, and adoption fee apply to all animals.

These four girls were surrendered to us with their mother, Duchess, as an unwanted litter. Duchess is the most beautiful Torti Tabby, who has the face of a Maine C**n. The girls are all Tabby / Torti Tabby domestic short hair. Duchess isn't available for adoption as yet.

They have all been tested and are negative for Feline Aids and Leukemia. The kittens will be vaccinated and chipped before this weekend, at which point they will be ready to move to their forever homes.

If you are interested in adopting one or two of these girls, please WhatsApp message Grant on 0724740787

WALLACE and GROMIT are constantly overlooked, despite being all-round family dogs.
(Aid 4 Animals in Distress - Cape Town - Southern Suburbs)

NB: An application process, home check, and adoption fee apply to all animals.

These brilliant boys arrived as scared, thin 4-month-old pups from Lavender Hill. They have come so far in foster care and now love every person they meet. They get on well with cats and other dogs and are extremely good with kids. They often sit or sleep on kids' laps on adoption days and are so gentle with them. Both pups are real cuddle-bums and love to lie with people on a couch or bed.

Their mother is a rough-haired medium crossbreed. They are the spitting image of their father, or so we have been told. They are coming up on six months old. Both weigh around 5kg, so they will not be big dogs. With those ears, they don't miss a thing and are great alarm calls. As advised by our behaviourists with all sibling dogs, they will not be homed together for behavioral reasons.

These boys are the all-around package, but they seem to have been waiting for ages to be adopted. Let's change that for them.

Breed: Mixed breed

URGENT APPEAL FOR FUNDS.
(Aid 4 Animals in Distress - Cape Town, South Africa)

We are appealing to our supporters for funds to see us through into the new year. Kitten season is here with a bang, and the pups do not stop arriving.

This year has been a big one for us in terms of rescues. We were fortunate to receive some grants last year, which allowed us to focus on animal rescue this year. Unfortunately, we are reaching the end of those funds now.

In addition to our daily Aid4Aid duties, the team has also been hugely busy with our day jobs. We have tried to plan fundraising events. Due to time constraints, team capacity, and other factors beyond our control, these have not worked out. Despite our best efforts, all funding applications have been fruitless this year.

We are now facing kitten season, and it is raining kittens and, in many cases, mom cats for us. We have already taken in over 20 kittens and have another 6 litters pending arrival. The puppies do not stop arriving either, and we have some critical pups needing round-the-clock care, too.

So, we are appealing to all of our supporters, far and wide, to please donate whatever you can for funding. Every bit counts.

We are a registered PBO with Section 18a approval, meaning we can issue a tax certificate for any cash donation.

Meet the Aid 4 Animals in Distress Team!

Aid4Aid as an organisation has grown immensely over our 8 years of operation. We are continually growing, both as an organisation and as individuals. We have learned many things along the way and overcome many obstacles.

Each member of our Strategic Team works on the day-to-day running of our organisation, whether it be managing adoptions, fostering, rescues to fundraising.

Whilst each member voluntarily dedicates endless amounts of their spare time to help rescue and rehabilitate animals within the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, we all work full-time jobs. Please bear this in mind when sending us a message or contacting us, but please do feel to reach out to any of us should you need to.

Our love and commitment to helping animals only grows with each animal rescued and we strive to continue this into the future.

It has arrived! The Aid4Aid 2025 calendar is officially in-store and available to purchase.

Last year's edition was well received, so we decided to spread our wings further and go global. This year's theme is 'Around the World in 365 Days'. We are happy with the results. This edition is very vibrant and colourful. As always, it features some stunning animals from the Aid4Aid family.

Each 12-month, full-colour calendar will retail for R170 each. All proceeds from sales go back into animal rescue and rehabilitation. As always, we have a short write-up on each animal and their rescue story. There are dogs, cats, and puppies in this edition, all of whom we rescued and now live fantastic lives.

Thanks as always to Shuttermutts Pet Photography. Without fail, they manage to bring our animals and concepts to life, always far exceeding our greatest expectations.

SEBASTIAN unfortunately finds himself in need of a new family and home.
(Aid 4 Animals in Distress - Cape Town - Southern Suburbs)

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Sebastian's family has had to put him back up for adoption. Unfortunately, we are running out of time to find him a wonderful new home.

This lovely boy is great with other dogs and regularly attends doggy daycare. He will do best in a home with other dogs as he enjoys their company. A dog friend to play with would be best. He has never lived with cats. Living with them is an unknown at this stage. He has lived with kids but can be a bit bouncy. Older kids who can handle bouncy dogs would be best. Sebastian has great vitality towards life and would make a great running, hiking, and walking partner for a lucky family.

Please consider giving Sebastian a second chance as part of a loving family home.

Our Story...

It’s incredibly humbling to look back and reflect on what started off as a WhatsApp group and is now a fully fledged rescue organisation. What a ride it has been and how we continually learn and grow from strength to strength. To date thus far we have rescued and rehomed over 750 animals.

Our committee is comprised of twelve individuals which includes a Chairman, Financial Officer, Secretary, Adoptions Manager, Behaviorist and Wildlife Officer. Some may not know this either, but each of us has a full time job and this is purely a voluntary passion that we commit to whole heartedly in our limited spare time.

This organisation, however, would not be the success it is today, without the tremendous support from an amazing community. Our 4 WhatsApp groups contain over 200 willing participants who are never afraid to drop what they are doing and attend to emergency situations, from confronting puppy sellers to rescuing stray dogs.

We don’t have a formal premises and completely rely on foster care, with each and every foster home aiding in the rehabilitation of every animal in their care.
